Hatches not snapping

Hatches don’t seem to snap onto anything. Anyone have any information about this?

It worked for me this way:

  1. place solid floor tile
  2. place hatchframe into it (i’m not kidding)
  3. place hatch door

I found I could place them in ceiling tiles pretty easily. (replacing the ceiling).
