Bug Description:
Heartsblood Daggers " are not Gouging. They bleed as other daggers, however they are tagged with the “Gouging” perk. Other gouging weapons would have a separate gouging icon in addition to bleed, therefore a gouging tick and a bleed tick. These daggers as modified in the new update, have just the bleed icon. May be worth looking into.
‘Gouging’ works on undead, where bleed does not. To check if gouge is working, try it on a skeleton, if the bleed effect shows on the skeleton then you know it’s working. Perhaps they just changed it so a single creature can’t be both, bleeding and gouged, at the same time.
Isn’t that the undead bane you are talking about? Gouging is a special bleed that works on undead TOO.
Annoying shard for example applies both regular bleed and gouging on fleshy targets.
@rolee9309, Undead Bane is like a poison for undead which stacks up to 10 times. Gouging is like a bleed affect (that stacks up to 20 times) which has always worked for both living and undead.
The best way to check is to have hit your own pet/thrall (need PvP enabled) and go in their stats to check their statuses.
Here, it will display whether it is bleeding or gouging!
I did not find “heartseeker daggers” in the admin panel, I think you are talking about Heartsblood instead?
But Heartsblood does work, so whatever daggers you are using, check on your own thrall/pet (make sure they have enough HP tho)
Thanks, for verifying. Although without seeing the 2nd DOT icon (Which I was expecting based on the Annoying Shard) on the foe when hit, it was easy to think otherwise.
Maybe I can find a mod for single player which shows trailing damage ticks when a foe is stuck. Anyone have any suggestions?
The Damage Meter (by Xevyr) comes to mind. I haven’t used it myself, but the video I’ve seen shows the log recording “effect damage” in individual entries. Unfortunately, unless the mod has changed since the video, it does not specify which “effect” causes the damage. But at least you should see whether there is one or several effects doing damage at the same time.
