Help getting ready for living settlement please?

Just trying to make my base ready and have a few questions:

They need a campfire, but does it need to be lit all the time? Or at least have fuel in it? And I assume a large campfire will work?

Will they sit in my throne? I love that the tavern patrons won’t, so I’m hoping the thralls will not as well.

I am open to any other helpful info from those who know more than me (which tends to be the vast majority of people). Thank you.

They don’t “need” any of the items they will go to. They will go to any fire, but it doesn’t need to be on and if you don’t have one it doesn’t matter. Same with a well, bed, chairs, etc. They will sleep in your bed and sit in your tavern. Not sure about thrones. One nice touch is that some chairs have the “sitting on the throne” pose.

i do hope it gets postponed due to the huge ammount of issues and bugs that are being reported on the beta!

Main thing will be to make sure that campfires, beds, and probably chairs are not outside so your bench thralls won’t open your doors to let other players in your base. Otherwise, you can figure needs out after the update. They are calling them needs but the thralls “need” none of these things to continue existing.

It probably would be a good idea to take all of your bench thralls off of your benches before the update since Funcom updates aren’t perfect. This is just to make 100% sure that your thrall limit isn’t exceeded. When your thrall limit is exceeded, your thralls will be deleted until you are below the limit again. Not sure which ones will get deleted first but I assume it will be my most prized thrall and avoid the scenario.

I also have no idea which bench thralls will be placeable and count towards your thrall limit and which ones won’t. I am just gonna be safe and assume it is all of them.

I appreciate the info Kikigirl.

Not looking forward to this update. My bases will look desolate and less lively with minimal bench thralls.

How to be ready for living settlement update:

Remove all your thralls from the benchs and hold they in your character , wood box chest or vault make sure it have 240 hour time.

Search a priest in real life doesnt matter your religion pray for your god aleast 7 times 1 week before the update ask he for big protection.

1 day before update buy some drinks.

In the day of update make love with your girlfriend ,boyfriend ,husband ,wife or your hands watch some comedian movie and drink so much log in game cross your fingers and maybe you dont get angry or saddly.

Last advise: wait 1 or 2 months to put your thralls in bench again.

That is the only way that you will be able to prepare for this abysmal update.

Will the followers use stoves (or more specifically the vanir hearth)? or only campfires / bonfires?

They use stoves but not as a needs based requirement for all. Only Cooks will navigate to them.

The campfires act more like a rest spot, very much like the beds and chairs. They appear to prefer Bonfires as well, I haven’t witnessed one go to a campfire even through it was a choice.

I didn’t think about Bonfires at all. I use them rarely but when I do they are outside.

Same here. I like the Large Campfire and the Vanir Hearth the most for a kind of centerpiece for the great hall (actually more like a mediocre hall tbh). Spit Roast campfire is also nice. The stoves are a bit boring looking, and the bonfire really just looks like it belongs outside.
