The game thinks I am still in purge mode and is not allowing me to modify or build. I have tried,
- Starting and finishing a purge
- Restarting the game
Nothing works, please help.
I had the same problem , it went away on server restart so wait for that

Can you interact with your coffer? If so, try either emptying it or dismantling it (without trying to enter build mode)
Taking it apart in build mode won’t work anyway. All you can do is dismantle it. It’s one of the few objects, like the transporter, that can’t be picked up and MUST be broken for a fraction of the materials.
But it only costs 15 shaped wood and 5 iron reinforcements, so very little is lost.
True… I was just being technical… though I will say that is a pretty big deal if you’re not near your main base or have the materials on hand. I have a purge base and don’t typically keep those materials, let alone loot them from the chests. I’d be SOL if I had to rebuild. I’d be taking a trip back to get the stuff.
I keep a chest with repair materials and a repair hammer in my purge bases. Even the best defended purges require a few taps of the repair hammer.
