Help the game won't stop rubber banding me

I have tried every fix I could find online and none are working. I purchased the game about 2 weeks ago and while playing in single player it ran perfectly fine for me. I had a friend get a server and I joined and all I do is rubberband and lag. I have spent an entire day troubleshooting trying to fix it. My graphics card is well above the requirements and my wifi upload and download speeds are way higher than necessary. I played with the graphics and did all the renaming of files. Nothing is working and i cannot play this game with friends. Any other advice is appreciated.

if you go in the console (its either the ~ or insert key, for me i have to press the insert key)
and type ToggleDebugHUD and press enter. what values do you get for your ping and server fps?
server fps should be around 30 (if your friend did not change the default value on the server)

ps: do this when playing on your friends server 8)

It is set at 30. The glitching gets worse the longer I am playing. it seems like a memory leak maybe but I don’t know enough about computers to troubleshoot it and I have tried every fix online. Spent all day yesterday trying to fix it.

do you see a solid 30 if your playing the game?
And whats the ping value you see.

the fact that single player is fine makes me think your connection to his server is lagging.

I now have it in single player too. LOL. My frustration level has now gone up. I am about ready to just ask for my money back. I did an internet speed check and I am at 500mbs download speed and 30 upload speed. My processor and graphics card are well above the requirements needed. Every other game I play (7 Days to Die, ARK, New World) all run fine. It’s just this game. Bleh.

Ping value goes from 20 up to 78.

and yes it was a solid 30.

i take it you tried all the stuff mentioned on the forum here like lower grafics settings, update grafics driver, verify files in steam and so on, to fix it.

good luck 8)

Yeah I did. It started happening after the patch they passed on the 17th. Before then the game worked fine.

Rubberbanding can be a synch issue between your client and the server. That means some of your client files do not match the game files.
Have you used the file repair tool on Steam?
In your game library, right click on Conan Exiles, then click properties, then click verify the integrity of the game files. Then reboot.

List them anyway. There maybe an issue with the ones being used.

Yes I have done that and I went in and deleted and reinstalled the game as well.

I don’t just rubberband, I also freeze but in game my character is still moving. Then I rubberband.

Actually I apologize for having you put in the work to get that information. For some reason I mixed up your thread with a few others I was reading at the time and thought this was a singleplayer or coop issue. Your system specs are likely irrelevant. Though I would recommend playing Conan Exiles in a hard wired configuration rather than wifi. I doubt CE handles dropped or corrupted packets well, and wifi will have those, no matter how good the hardware is.

Have your friend reboot the server and make sure he does so every 72-96 hours. Servers being online for too long between reboots all begin to degrade in performance despite having a great server tickrate and ping.

This game worked for me 2 weeks ago. Not one issue. Now all the sudden I log in after the 17th and it is borked. I have tried everything. Reset server changing folder names, install uninstall, turn graphics down, I spent 2 days doing it all. Updated drivers, check internet speeds. I am beginning to think I should just uninstall and move on to a different game. unfortunately I see people have been having this issue since 2017. Doesn’t seem to be a priority for the developers. Thanks for all the help you offered. This game is no bueno.

Make sure the game you switch too doesn’t have a server you have to maintain yourself. All of them have similar issues. Server restarts are a thing in online gaming.
