Hello everyone, with the new update you may of noticed your loot all key is now on Q target lock and can not be changed in the menu. This is gross. here is a tutorial on how to fix that back to old conan keybinds.
first change any keybind in game so that your .ini file populates. if you don’t change something in game first, it will be blank when you try the next steps.
here i changed the toggle sprint for mount since it was something i did not use anyway. then close conan.
hit CNTRL + F to open the search menu, and go till it shows these two lines, with the KEY=
ActionMappings=ActionName=“QuickLootNavTakeAll”,bShift=False,bCtrl=False,bAlt=False,bCmd=False,Key=F,bLongPress=False)
you can see in the photo what they are set to. you can make this whatever loot all key you want.
i plan to set mine back to F. and my loot one to Q.
then make sure you save the file.
now boot conan. You should be able to loot npc bodies mid combat without Q locking randomly onto them now when trying to loot all ina big crowd.
remember that conan needs to be closed when you do this or the changes will not save.
I’d stay on funcom to give us the option, I don’t usually lock on, but I do take all, wait no, not if there is an enemy within the lock on range Not file digging an altering to fix a funcom bad decision.
yeah i have no idea why its not rebindable in the regular game menu. or why it was changed to q in UE5. drove me insane, so i caved and did the file edit finally lol hopefully my tutorial can help the few who also can not take the annoyance any longer
I just tried this and it didn’t seem to work. (But I only tried looting a chest, not a body. I don’t have time to test on a body today, so I’m commenting this to keep the thread alive. I’ll try to test on a body tomorrow and come back with the result.)
after doing a little test, it only replaces the keybind for dead npc bodies and npc chests, does not work on my own chests or benches, and if i open my bench the take all button is q. so this seems to be a very specific keybind and there is another for inside containers, also i oddly can’t loot all my own chests with any keybind without opening them first and in the chest has no keybind its just a button to press, i feel like that’d be neat if we could if i ever had to empty and run away with my stuff fast haha
Interesting - the chest I tried on was one of the gold and silver chests at Dagon’s Embrace (the one in the tunnel above the Witch Queen’s Palace. With my own chests I didn’t get the loot all option at all, even after I opened it - but I also didn’t check the benches. I need to try some proper testing. I’ll get back to you on this tomorrow. Thanks for having tested it. I’ll see if I can come up with anything then
I know it’s annoying. But I did relearn to use the F button to take single pieces.
Occasionally, I still hit the Q button, but sometimes given the content of the loot I’ll either drop what I don’t want or keep it. But I try to avoid any looting in mid combat.
That works fine, so long as you don’t also use Q for target lock (I keep it turned off by default, so this doesn’t affect me). But it’s even worse for players using non-QWERTY keyboards - what got me back onto this was a player on discord who is having trouble with it who uses an AZERTY keuboard. As a result, when they walk around their base, everytime they try to move left, it loots the nearest bench into their inventory. That’s a pretty big problem. Unfortunately, as Mortifatality demonstrated, benches (and player owned chests) are not governed by the same ‘loot all’ input (for some reason). Xevyr and Tephra also tried to find alternative input commands that might be causing this problem, but none of the options appear to change the input for looting benches or player owned chests.
