Lost my sheldright that took forever to get and most my bench throls think they need to roll back the servers so we can get them back think this up date sucks so far its to bad good ideas changing the story but i relly dont like the cost i had to pay for it the sheldright relly is upsetting and i want it back
I’m not having any issues I don’t know what you guys are all complaining about
I think I speak for the whole community when I say that we are all happy for you.
Ive only had to replace bartenders, not a big deal. Ive only placed low level crafters none have disappeared for me yet.
I’m having fun with it, kind of. I like Liu Fei’s quest chain which is good because Freya’s doesn’t work for me. I have both versions of him but cannot progress beyond Stormwatch with her.
I made the mistake of putting out a t4 that cannot be replaced and she died for no reason. Got her in a yeti purge before they reworked them.
I’m tired.
I’m not tryin to salt any wounds but I’m liking it. It’s something new. The thralls constantly moving around the room doing different things actually seems to give the room some energy, so no complaints about that. I leveled a fighter yesterday. Everything worked as usual. All the temperament and attitude settings. The ranges seemed accurate to me as far as when rhe thrall would respond if I had it set to agro. Quiet mode worked too. Also I liked how there were several optional placements for it, bu doors or at the campfire of you can even assign fighters to benches if you want
Then there came a moment when I needed to move a base to a different spot on the map and the T4 alchemist needed to move with it so I threw some armor on it and had it follow. No problems. Through a bunch of gorillas and apes and cats then through the map room and then accross some more hostile territory, no problems. In fact it never even fell behind. Got it to the new spot. Posted it ut while I built up. Soon as I had a few benches down it went straight back to work on its own.
They can emote so you can just have them lay down in some bushes if need be. They can be rescued from accross the map like any other thrall. I currently have a T4 scoutwtight, alchemist and bladesmith in play. It’s ok people, you can do this. I even oicked up a few busty 1’s too just round the room off a little better
And I swear it’s great how that 1 T4 alchemist can boost 2 precision bowls, a giants and a precision potion bench all at the same time , so I don’t 2 or 3 alchemists out at the same time.
Then even got a decayed base last night too. Lots of mats but best of all 2 more scoutwrights and 2 more alchemists, some cooks, tanners…no blacksmith though
Oh and on another note, the base I demolished, I took the spot so naturally I had to build my new base up around a few of the guys leftover thralls, it was after raid hours. I tried to spike them with wall palisades like ya used to and it didn’t work. They took a quick initial 20 points of damaged then just healed up and stopped taking damage. There was no icon for the bleed stack in their health bar. So I don’t think people can grief them outside if raid hours and these were someone else’s thralls on my now claimed land.
I honestly kind of have lost interest. I’ve just got a couple of crafters out, and will see if they’re still there friday.
Not enough weekly free time to spend it messing around with workarounds and some servers randomly crapping themselves erasing 24 hours of data.
Not too much new stuff for me to explore personally anyhow, not far along enough yet on my Yamatai&Khitan and Generic Nordic characters to grab the new additions.
Overall, I liked the update.
I had a problem with the stamina bar bug getting stuck at zero. Even after turning off the game and opening it again on the PVE server, the problem persisted. So I played a little bit in single player and had no problems. The next day, the PVE mode went back to working normally regarding the stamina bar (at least, so far it hasn’t happened again).
Another problem I had (and that hadn’t happened in a while) was that followers got stuck in the middle of the path when you were traveling around the map. I had to go back a good distance about three times to unlock followers.
The problem of falling off floors happened a few times when I first logged in to the new update, but it didn’t happen again after that (whatever is causing it).
I also felt that there was an improvement in performance near places with a lot of bases.
But there is still a drop in performance near very large bases (but I’m talking about abnormally large bases here, the kind that connect two mountain peaks and spread out into the valley below between them).
Otherwise, regarding the update itself, I’m enjoying having a busier base, with workers walking around the place and giving dynamism to the environment.
I also liked the possibility of gaining followers by rescuing prisoners from cages in the camps. This is an interesting gameplay feature, especially for those who like RPGs and enjoy creating stories for their game sessions. Sometimes we’ll want to create a tyrannical villain who wants to make the world kneel at his feet. But sometimes we can create a hero who, for example, is against slavery. Anyway, I thought the idea was pretty cool.
I also liked the possibility of having workers follow me, since some are quite strong and the fact that you can no longer carry them as items adds greater complexity to moving bases or moving people between bases.
I haven’t been able to test Freya and Liu-Fei’s quests yet (I think that’s how you spell the sorcerer’s name). To tell you the truth, it’s going to take me a while to start doing that, because I’ve only been playing on this server for a short time, from scratch, and I haven’t even managed to create an epic armor to equip myself with, and I’m currently aiming for that goal.
I read in the changelog for this update that we’ll be able to collect crystals with tools again, but I haven’t had the chance to test it yet.
As for the issue with the minions disappearing, I didn’t have that problem (that I noticed, at least). I also didn’t have any bartenders and I still don’t, so the bartending problem didn’t affect me.
Something that I felt improved, but it’s still too early for me to celebrate, is that the problem with minions standing still next to the character, trapping him in one place, seems to have improved in this update and if they really fixed this, it will be a relief, because I’ve spent a few minutes stuck in one place, trying to make the minions move without success. When I was in a place where it was possible to position them nearby, I was able to escape this trap, but when this happens in an NPC camp, for example, this is not possible and I was completely stuck. Anyway, the redundancy is because this really bothered me a lot.
Anyway, overall, I’m loving the new update (really) and, even so, I still curse out loud when a bug happens (like the one with the minions mysteriously staying behind).
snafu
…so business as usual
Should not feel good, my server 2585 has been down going on 72 hours. Been there since 2017 and this sucks. Ticket submitted but I get an immediate response stating, “Solved”. Nothing solved, no server.
Yesterday I managed to play for about 30 minutes and I had the opportunity to lose my first minion since the new update, lol.
The minion in question is Phalia (T4), a blacksmith.
The difference between her and the other minions, which didn’t disappear, is that she’s the first one I got after the update. Another difference is that she’s the first one I freed from a Cage, so I don’t know if the important fact here is that I got her after the update or if it’s because I got her in a cage.
Another important point is that after I let her follow me to the base, I forgot to position her in the Base. I let her follow me along with my other minion (Valaris, a T4 dancer) and after arriving at the Base and finishing some preparations there, I created a sleeping bag and then logged out.
When I logged in yesterday, I realized that neither Valaris nor Phalia were there anymore. However, Valaris returned to the last Base where he had been placed (this already happened in the previous update and, whether it is considered a bug or part of the mechanics I don’t know, I just know that I swear a few times when I forget to place the minions in the base where I will “wake up” in the next session, since I am counting on their help for some task).
As for Phalia, since I had not placed her anywhere, I imagined that she would return to the place where I rescued her, but after updating the list of followers, she was simply no longer on the list. So, I think that’s it: I lost her.
When I can play the next session, I will do the following test:
Free a bench minion and, after reaching the base, place it.
I will log out and log back in and see if the minion is still there, or if it has disappeared. > I’m going to call this minion Test 1.
After this test, I’m going to repeat the test with another bench minion, but I’m going to purposely log out without placing it on a base and see if it disappears or not. I’m going to call this minion Test 2.
I’ll come back and comment on these tests later.
Anyway, I don’t know if the problem only occurs with any minion obtained after the update (I know it didn’t happen to me with any of the minions obtained before the update).
I also don’t know if the problem only occurs with minions obtained from cages, or if it doesn’t matter how they are obtained.
I also don’t know if “forgetting to place them” is related to the disappearance.
If anyone has tested/played enough to understand this, please post here to help us better understand what’s going on.
PS.: despite this problem, I still like the update. PPS: In my opinion, one of the advantages of this update is the fact that we now need fewer bench minions, because even if we have at least several furnaces in a base, the same minion is capable of working on all of them. So, I think this brings optimization to the gameplay: less time capturing minions, more time actually playing.
