Ok so here’s the deal - on the official server there’s this small clan that joined literally 7 or so days ago. For last 3 days a person from that clan has been summoning 3 Gods (Jhebbal Sag) within 1-2 hours on daily basis destroying everything on the map and driving people out of the server. Not only that but the gods are summoned from across the map. The caster is in the top left corner of the map while the god itself appears in the jungle. The caster usually teleports to obelisk on another side of the map, builds himself around with foundations really quickly, and stays there. The God appears for a brief second at the caster location and then reappears on the other side of the map.
I thought this person was cheating so I’ve reported it - provided timestamps, screenshots of god/caster icons on maps, names, and everything, and Funcom responded with something like “Either show us the video/screenshot of the logs or we can’t help you” (I thought checking the logs is something they do)
So this lack of interest from Funcom makes me believe that this is actually a game mechanic that I don’t know how to use. So here are the questions:
how do I make the god teleport to the other side of the map, far away from me as a caster? I can only summon the god where I stand and move at a very slow speed.
What’s the trick to cast the same god 3 times a day every day? Is there some way to upgrade the altars extremely fast?
I can’t answer the first, but this I can. If you have enough material to rebuild it, which isn’t difficult, you can run purges and collect materials AND harvest the corpses necessary to level it up fairly easily.
Edit: that being said, farming an archpriest can be another issue entirely.
I don’t think that’s it. The player literally logs in near the PVP hours just to wreck havoc. They don’t have proper bases, purges, bars, and all that stuff.
I’m starting to think it’s related to duping as seen in one of the youtube videos
And then now looking at his other videos, I’m guessing the caster is cancelling the God summoning animation, quickly travels with obelisk and builds stuff around him before the actual God gets summoned.
Again ,it looks like it’s cheating which Funcom doesn’t care about based on the response I got from then (and people quit due to this kind of stuff), but I’ll try to stay positive and wait for someone to explain how to do this other way.
If that’s the case, the patch notes for today state they’ve fixed a duping exploit. I’d suggest waiting and seeing if they’re still up to their old games… though they may have some stuff on reserve, so it may take a bit for them to stop. That does suck though. Sorry.
Oh I wasn’t aware there was an update today. At least that’s good. I still wish the devs would actually ban the cheater to teach him a lesson. This is not the only “trick” he and his clan uses. Some people I know have already given up on the game because of this issue.
As far as location, I’m thinking you have no experience in God summoning. Not trying to be rude or anything, inexperienced players might assume it’s cheating when it’s not. The way it works is the God token will pop in your pocket regardless of where you are relative to the alter. So I can set up a alter in the jungle, ob to brim, set up a reinforced “god box” and chill there until it finishes and appears in my hotbar, from there I just summon the God from inside the safety and wreak havok… It’s a legit strategy.
Yeah, I don’t do it often since I’m on PvE. There’s no purpose to doing it outside of ■■■■■ and giggles. I definitely know how to level them up though. I use them more for perks and esthetics than for summons.
Following up in this. Once you start crafting the token, it will show as True Name. This is probably what you are seeing. That will take 1 hour. As said, once it finishedls, it will pop in the inv/tool bar of the player who crafted. So it will apear to teleport at that time. That explains the jumping around part.
As for farming, gatherung set eyes and derketo books is one way to quicken the zeal farm. Purge level 1 another. But crafting the zeal takes alot of time as well. So they may just have a stash of alot of mats for zeal (or duping it tbh). Find the zeal stash, stop the Gods. Assuming agaun they aren’t just duoing the blood.
Pvp is about cunning, don’t just assume everyone is cheating because you don’t understand what’s happening. The exploit you speak of is patched, but I assure you everything you just described can be accomplished without any exploit and is part of the game mechanics. If you truely feel it’s unfair, then you have two options… Try pve-c, or learn the games mechanics and how to use them to your advantage and strike back. Don’t be so quick to judge, and try not to let pixel pride run your life…
Like others have described it sounds like they were duping.
Otherwise like others have suggested as well:
Not only are PVP servers x4, so in some circumstances getting zeal via mats is pretty damn quick, you can also cheese your summoned purges to get zeal from NPCs very easy. You’d have enough to upgrade your altar and the 500 to summon an avatar in an hour or less. This is in addition to all the various offerings that provide +20 per zeal.
One of the easiest ways to ensure your altar is not destroyed and priest isn’t stolen or someone else summons is to upgrade to T3 and then 1 hour 1-2 minutes before raid time start the token. Then position yourself where you want to god at the start, token will appear in inventory then god.
No no, I understand this perfectly, I know the token appears in your inventory regardless where you are. What I’m talking about is god being summoned on one side of the map, but appearing on other. The SUMMONING PLAYER was enclosing himself, god appearing for a brief moment on that player, and then just teleported to the other side of the map where the attack happened.
As explained in the above post, I do know the token appears in the inventory automatically. I was referring to GOD teleporting. It appears above the caster for a brief moment and then teleports to the other side of the map to perform an attack where the caster was previously.
I’m not refering to simply icons on the map. I saw the caster with my own eyes in one location, and attack happening on the other side of the map as per icon and report of another group. I saw the god appear only for a brief moment at the caster location before it just vanished and reappeared at the base on the other side of the map where they were performing the attack.
