The company’s policy is strange, they sell DLC construction. People start building and they are banned for excessive construction. We have 4 people in our clan who bought up the entire market and blocked us forever. I have two blocks for construction. I don’t think I’ll buy anything. I don’t think it’s fair to block forever for construction. It would be fair to return the money to everyone who was blocked for construction.
Don’t do it on officials. Simple enough.
Private servers or single player are meant for massive constructions.
Public servers require you to be considerate that other people are trying to play. Imagine that.
That’s an excellent policy if you play exclusively on official servers and aren’t reasonably sure you can avoid getting banned from them.
No, it wouldn’t. Banning people from official servers does not prevent them from playing the game and using their purchased content.
Precisely. All of that content is still 100% usable on private servers or on solo/co-op play. Their suspensions/bans do not prevent you from having access to the in game items you have purchased.
That being said, receiving a suspension or a ban is also not a reason why said items are not worth purchasing at this point in time. The lack of quality control is the biggest reason. Far too frequently items are put out that either do not work, do not work as advertised, are missing items from the set that the set claims to contain, and so on. Then when combined with the lack of a refund policy… yeah those SHOULD BE the reasons that it is not worth buying items from the BLB. Getting suspended and or banned due to ToS violations are certainly not however.
One last mention, Happy Cake Day @CodeMage
Arguably, i’d also mention pricing as a reason not to buy approx. 60-75% of the things…
Things like Warpaints take the cake for me. 350 Crommaroos for 1 paintjob you will probably barely get to enjoy as it is very temporary when applied, plus you wear armor on top.
Yeah, the Aesir Raider set i have for example is literally just the armor. Not the weapons.
I didn’t even bother to get into the pricing as that is more subjective, though in all honestly I cannot fathom how anyone could argue that it is not highly over priced. But the fact that thing have been released in a non-working state, or being advertised to contain more than they do really cannot be argued. Nor can the lack of a return policy, which is why I chose to stick with those parts. But I do completely agree with you, the pricing is unreasonable.
it’s french but you can use a translate tool…
there will be negotiations for sure…
we don’t know how this will continue
it will also depend on you
I’m glad to see a push for consumer rights. Video game publishers have been getting away with way too much.
That said, none of the issues in the article you linked apply to this particular topic.
Would it be great to see real prices instead of this virtual currency bullshіt? Absolutely! Would it be awesome if we owned the content we bought without the publishers or middlemen being able to revoke it unilaterally? Definitely! Would it be better for everyone if there were no predatory practices like FOMO and loot boxes? Hell yeah!
Should companies be forced to provide you with unlimited access to their servers without enforcing any rules of conduct? Hell no. You want a server, you host one and see how that works out for you. Should a company have an obligation to offer you a refund for the content that applies to the game (not a specific server) if someone revokes your access to one or more of the servers? In your dreams.
There’s only one way I can see any of the points in the article applying to this situation: when using Bazaar, Funcom should make sure the buyers are aware that the content they purchase is not tied to any particular server or game mode, so that no one can complain they weren’t properly informed, or try to dishonestly conflate their Bazaar purchases with their access to the official servers.
Amen!
However @paxanj, instead of trying to bully Funcom with hate messages and costumers rights empty threats, why don’t you try to plead for “official servers for builders”?
I do get that people enjoy the building aspect more than anything else in this game, i really do. And i am not happy for any ban of this type, truly.
So ask Funcom if they could turn just one pve server of each region, to “builders paradise”. This way, builders would have their server to scr3w it the way they like and we wouldn’t have all these unnecessary whinings and Karenings in here .
Think of it!
a day will come, but for now it will be necessary once again for the idiots to show the way and for the others to follow. Except that the idiots who try are often simply crushed.
and when I say idiots, it’s sarcastic…en francais on dit con simplement
parce qu’il faut une sacré dose de folie ou de connerie pour faire changer les chose
Completely agree!
Let’s have a simple discussion here on this part.
I believe that every person behaves inappropriate and get banned in official server mostly because of “κακή παιδεία”.
We are guests! Not owners!
So we play the game in these servers as guests, not as owners.
If someone feels an owner, will be banned!
If someone abuse the guest manors again will be banned!
It’s very simple for me and if i ever get banned, i will firstly apologize for my bad behavior, i will accept my penalty as guilty and i will plead to learn my mistake not to do it again ever .
If Funcom won’t reply to my mistake, which i believe they will, then it’s bad for both sides.
So far my experience in this forum and Zendesk is that in honest and kind replies they are very, fast, warm and helpful. That’s my true experience so far, but in Zendesk was for crom coin issue, not bans reports and other sh.t. I don’t report, period!
I am against large construction myself, I would like the administration to introduce specific rules for construction, for example, 5000 blocks monolithic 10 storage, prohibited places for construction of a dam. Motherwort ditch… How to protect a base when 10 fobs are being built nearby plus fobs from old opponents remain. Go to any pvp server +20 you can ban any clan, everything is sulfur and the whole failure is in the pyramids. Either lose or build, now a chain reaction has started, everyone is throwing complaints at each other. Maybe we should ban construction on pvp servers altogether???
Or maybe you should stop being disingenuous and argue in good faith.
For what it’s worth, I agree that Funcom isn’t handling the server moderation properly. There’s not enough clarity and transparency about rule enforcement, they don’t give players any in-game tools to know if they’re affecting server performance, they don’t give out sufficient information when someone is suspended or banned to help them learn to avoid it in the future, etc.
But it’s hard to have a conversation about it when you insist on being intellectually dishonest.
I actually joined a clan, set up 2 small kilns for firing, and immediately left the clan and got a permanent ban for that. I didn’t see a clause in the rules prohibiting setting up kilns.
On another server we built fangs 1500 monolith + one pyramid 6x6. The enemy scattered 20 fobs nearby. WHAT DID WE BUILD WRONG??? CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO ME
It is not the number of blocks or the places you have built that affect the blocking. It is the number of complaints that affect the blocking. On a pvp server, you can complain about absolutely any player. IF THE BASE CANNOT BE BLOWED UP, WRITE TO THE ADMINISTRATION AND IT WILL SIMPLY BE DISMANTLED
the only thing you have is time
the rest is just an illusion of your mind enlarged by a dying system…
I’m afraid that the biggest illusion is the illusion of thinking that you have time.
the greatest truths are often those that scare us the most
I could only suggest that you meditate on the why of emotions…
Be careful, this may surprise you…
You can also play other games or not play at all. I bought the game dlc and items from the bazaar to play on official servers. If you closed access, return the money
