Improve the Bazaar

The Bazaar is utterly lackluster. Like, really bad. So few items to choose from and what there is…is pretty bad. Enough of the ugly fantasy armors. And if you’re going to offer us pets, give us an option to take OFF the ludicrous armor as well. Please do NOT offer us ridiculous utterly unrealistic mounts. Give us different horses. Not just different colors but discernably different breeds. Heavy warhorses (bonus to strength). Elegant Arabians (bonus to endurance). Swift Thoroughbreds (bonus to speed). Camels. Mules. ELEPHANTS! Give us an elephant mount to go with the wonderful Turan elephant pet from the DLC! And if you’re going to nickel and dime us to death on cosmetics and decos, make them CULTURAL. And I don’t mean some hideous thing you’ve just basically made up. I mean dig into the races and cultures created by Robert E. Howard. Virtually ALL of them drew from historical cultures. Lean into that as you used to do with the DLCs. Give us cultural armor AND CLOTHING. And yes, give us some of the fun stuff from the iconic art associated with Conan: Frazetta, Boris, Brom! Give us ENTIRE BUILD SETS, not just odds and ends of pieces! FULL furnishing sets! And make them CULTURAL! Give us armor and CLOTHING for each of REH’s cultures! And jewelry sets! And do all of this in CIMMERIAN and STYGIAN the two most iconic cultures from the stories! It’s INSANE that it’s been over 5 years and you haven’t done this already!

Oh and then there’s this…

You seriously want almost ten bucks, nearly the cost of an entire old DLC…for FOUR build pieces? Are you out of your minds?

Completely and wholeheartedly agree.

I’ve been avoiding the bazaar because the price-points are way off compared to other similar markets. I understand the desire to micro-transaction optional content, and that’s fine, but it’s right there in the word… “MICRO-transactions”. A 4-piece build set should be at most $2. A complete armor set $2. If it’s not selling, reduce to $1. I think you’ll get MORE sales overall by lowering the prices so the greater bulk of thge community is inclined to make purchases rather than a handful of whales that don’t balk at 4 pieces of digital art costing 1/4 the price of a completely new game or 1/6th the price of a AAA title with THOUSANDS of assets in it.

Sorry to disagree, but yes; for $10 I will gladly pay to make something other than boring old sandstone. Its not like its $10 for 4 pieces only… the sum is greater than its parts when building a base.

Willing to bet OP pays 9$ for coffee though.

I make my coffee at home and don’t even remember the last time I was at a Starbucks… think it was over a year ago at least while I was staying at a hotel. At any rate…not really sure about the point you were trying to make here. I DO spend over $9 for a pound of coffee that I make myself. Make of that what you will! LOL

Willing to bet Tuffman would pay a $10 for half a cup of coffee and then buy the second half for another $10.

But why? Why on earth would you pay much of ANYTHING for T1 pieces which everyone rushes to get out of in the first place?

Because as an early adopter (who doesnt mind the price), I can spur an initial sale to help keep it all going so that later, if they feel they can discount it to sell more, they will for everyone else. I am used to early adopter pricing in everything and I dont like waiting for a sale. Value isnt the same for everyone and that’s not a judgement call on anyone who thinks its overpriced. I just dont mind paying more to have it first that’s all. 4 pieces combined with other things will make a very nice T1 structure for me today.

Is that a 2x1 gate in sandstone set 1?
Is there a video online showing this?

No, and I also wouldn’t go to a Starbucks form complaining about the prices. I just don’t buy it.

Wholly agree. I really did prefer the DLC packs… It felt more like they were thinking very specifically about what theme and content they’d contain. I’m not bothered for more barbarian stuff. It’d be nice to have the damn Vendhyans get their due! I can’t count how many times I’ve seen people asking and talking about wanting Vendhyan inspired outfits and other things.

Ain’t gonna happen, at least not as a BLB-only offering, because everyone and their grandmother would scream P2W, and for a much better reason than the one that led to the nerfing of arcane bookcase.

Word of advice to people reacting to this: it might be better to just ignore it. People who post false equivalencies like this one only want to derail the thread.

Let’s keep in mind that this topic is not merely about price, and that making the discussion all about the price will benefit no one.

No almighty CodeMage. It’s about value, as was my comment. People pay money, you know, dollars, for things they value.

OP went off about hideous this and that and the cost of a set of construction pieces. And that’s fine, if they don’t like that item at that price point, cool.

This topic was not framed as “hey this would be neat” it was framed as “this stuff sucks.”

So take your false equivalencies talk elsewhere.

I’m inclined to agree there are actually warpaints i’m intrested in like the Illusion (you can only buy the wallpaint illusion right now) which I know is in the game but isn’t for sale in the Bazaar. Why are you not putting all the content up for sale?
I don’t see a reason to look through available content when it’s 6 items on offer, I’ll not start religiously checking it to see if an item I want is there.

Yeah my only mention of price was regarding the very last thing in my post. And while I do think the prices are too high for most things in there mostly what I dislike is how little there is to choose from and how it just seems like disparate junk with little to no thought behind it. Not a very impressive “grand opening” at all.

Translated:

Give us not cosmetics, but statistical advantages over those who do not purchase.

I’m a country boy. I couldn’t guess how far a Starbucks is from here. Coffee at Casey’s is a dollar.
I’ve always wondered why so many people think everyone lives in their world.

I love building, if the sandstone building set had actually added those building pieces to brick and reinforced stone, as well as the DLC packs, I’d have jumped on it at that price. If it was just been sandstone/brick/reinforced stone, I might have gotten it. But just sandstone, nope.

Same with the wall murals, color selection and a few more they might have been worth that price.

The thing is, people that have played for a while are going to judge everything by the past DLCs and find the bazaar underwhelming and over priced.

Laughing because the new sandstone building pieces in the bazaar is actually just the insulated wood ceiling tile on top of a sandstone foundation.

This is a question, where (as in, what source material) are the Gurnakhi from?

Anyone far deeper into the lore than this one?

Regarding the rest…
This one would prefer if meaningful horse distincts we’re something incorporated into the base game, rather than as a Bazaar option.

That said, largely agreed. Where is the Kushite gear? We are approaching a half dozen full sets of Nordheimer outfits… Aquilon also has a large amount of representation. Something south of Khemi would be nice.

As for presentation, this one finds the sets (both build and gear) incomplete and at too high of a price for that. To clarify, this one is not expecting previous DLC set pricing. However, this one also isn’t expecting to pay previous DLC prices for five building piece skins or just a skin for single handed axes and shields.

There aren’t even rough timber wedge foundations and roofs for clucks sakes. Not as in they aren’t in a specific set… They just don’t exist at all. Literally the only selling point the Bazaar is supposed to have is cosmetic, so one should be able to do a full build set with the look offered.

Similarly, the weapon skins are too limited. This one accepts there may be only a single weight of cultural armour in the new market, given the illusion system, but at least have a full armoury of weapons so that they can match. Having only a cleaver and a sword is fairly weak.

Then there is the Lemurian Spear.
We already have a Lemurian Spear.

Instead of a random grab bag of graffiti, package the graffiti with gear from the same culture or theme.
Not all religious spray paint. Instead, Jhebbal Sag set, with beastial weapon skins, a couple hunter themed placeables, and the spray paint with their face.

Not anyone . I do agree that it’s a bit expensive. I believe that a good balance would be every page to be sold summary 1200 coins, with all the items sold. So far we have 3 different pages so giving 30 euro is a fair prize either for us, either for their cause (keep the lights on).
Bazzar is pricey no doubt about it!
About the sandstone builds I will answer later with photos

Edit. Upgrading is under a lot of consideration now! I use to upgrade because of the lack of choises I had in tier one, not for the durability! Durability is mostly necessary in pvp. Purges must leave a sign of the war, it’s more RP and I love it .
Sandstone rocks @Alexandria :metal:

Edit 2.
This is my little town in progress on Wyrms bane Siptah! I don’t feel that my kitchen (tavern) looks less next to the glorious tier 3 dlcs of this game anymore!
