I am having issues with my PvE-C server switching to PvE automatically after I log into the admin panel while in game. This is very frustrating because other players are not able to see the server. The server is then listed under PvE. This only happens after I log into admin in game.
Also, I am not able to change any server settings once I am admin in game.
I have G-portal as the server host provider.
This is what they said to me: āAnytime you log in as admin in the game it defaults the settings. Itās a game bug, we are working with FunCom to correct this.ā
[Describe the bug here]
Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:
Set server config: CombatModeModifier=1 and PVPEnabled=True (I want PvE-C)
Restart server, run game, see my server under PvE-C.
Once in game, log into admin panel.
Server then switches automatically to PvE and am unable to modify any server settings with in game admin console.
Knifelt, welcome to the community. I am impressed with your report, especially as a first time user. It is thorough and gives information to the staff they can use. Please continue if you run into other issues.
As to your current problem, per Ignasis, the devs have it on their radar, and having run into the same type of issue, am looking forward to a fix. I may have a workaround in the meantime, though, for the server settings inability. Credit: Multigun.
Precede any server settings command with SetServerSetting and let us know if it works (it did for me with the example below). If it does, you may have to repeat each server restart. I edit the Wiki and need the following for screenshot capture. My example in the game command console:
SetServerSetting NPCrespawnmultiplier 0.0000001
(not ingame now, so indecisive about the equals sign before 0.000 which may have been there)
I have no other examples, but let us know if, and where, it works.
Regards
jim
Edited PS: I verified the syntax, two words, one value, space in between each.
SetServerSetting NPCrespawnmultiplier 0.0000001
So, your example would be ā¦
SetServerSetting CombatModeModifier 1
I also verified the setting remained on my solo game. Each session is a restart of the āserverā, but YMMV.
I tried that after I logged into in game admin and BOOM! My server no longer automatically switched to PvE.
All of my other server host settings remained the same!
When I typed āGetAllServerSettingsā the CombatModeMultiplier is set to āfastā for some reason, even after I typed SetServerSetting āCombatModeModifierā 1 into the console. The command did what I wanted to, which was for my server to stay PvE-C. I am just worried that the 30 day pvpblitz thing might be turned on as well. Which wipes the server after 30 days.

As long as I use the command console with the telda ( ` ) button to access admin (MakeMeAdmin), then the server settings do not change. However, if I try to log into admin through the ESC menu, settings, server settings, then log into admin from thereā¦ The serverconfig settings reset to default config (not even the server host providerās default config). This also happens whenever I have one of my family members or friends log into admin the same way (through the menu instead of console command).
The only way to NOT have the server change settings after logging into admin is ONLY by logging into admin through the console (MakeMeAdmin *************password). However, anyone who cannot launch the console is not able to become admin without going through the normal ESC, menu, server settings, admin) = which then resets the server config after they become admin that way!!!
I hope we resolve this issue. Please spread the word to the developers as well as server providers.

Please find a fix and let other server providers know whatās going on. Thank you and the team for all that you have done.

Good observation, KnifeIt. I use a Logitech macro to hit tilde and type in makemeadmin, so have never seen that effect. Also, itās always solo mode for Wiki work; no password. Thanks !
