Given the size of the pen, and the amount of slots, I suggest you increase the production rate.
I don’t really see the incentive to wait for a rocknose pooping out one gold ore when you can get a whole bunch of gold with almost no effort.
There’s a post on the wiki regarding the cost/benefit, but given the size of the animal pens I don’t find it feasible at all to build multiple pens for farming.
