That is an interesting side issue.
What constitutes a Point of Interest?
Some of such designated areas are merely visual landmarks.
Others are very story significant or the source of recipes/materials of a specific nature.
If Funcom gets around to a map overhaul, it may be beneficial to have different markers for different Points if Interest. Some of them, especially ones that are just intersecting scenery/landmarks are prime real estate for building. As desirable as they are verboten. Meaning obviously so.
While this one usually comes down fairly firmly on the enforcement on officials is not as consistent and clear as it should be…
This one finds it difficult to defend an obvious and willful act of obstruction.

What if a build does not block access, altho it sits upon the PoI?
It is easy enough to build open on the ground floor so any wandering pedestrian can still enter and see the rock formation, while still having one’s base at the locale. Probably harder to meaningfully defend in a purge, and probably not defendable in PvP, but still a potential location for a redoubt?
Yeah especially the fact that there’s posts like this everyday, im starting to believe it’s actually a thing - its not just few individuals that whine at forum at this point, we can’t deny there’s is problem.
making spots you don’t want people to build in… not buildable might go a long way to solving the problems
To the facts that if building in a POI is a banable. then you could go to any server today and have 90% of the server pop removed by reporting… So what next…
Imagine banning players of your game for building on a point of interest. Building is blocked on important content, we can’t build in dungeons, we can’t build in unnamed city or any other number of places. If it’s not blocked then we should not be getting banned for building there.
This isn’t what is happening though. Players are getting banned for far less than this and it’s because of trolls abusing the report system.
100% true. As for making more no build zones I agree but you’ll get all the private and coop players saying “great more spots we can’t build” to that I’d say 1. That sounds like a sever setting to me or 2. Deal with it as we have to because I doubt it was the pvp community who pushed for the tos.

I’ve seen 3 big tribes on PvP officials get banned by other players for “Land Claim Abuse” and “Excessive Griefing.”
They got banned for have a few thrall wheel and map rooms around the map and a thick base that lagged older consoles and people couldn’t easily raid.
I’ve seen another tribe get banned for defending their base 4 days in a row, despite not initializing PvP they got banned cause they hit first before they got hit,
The rules are just being blindly enforced and no ones investigating anymore.
Ya I agree you build in a area that has a structure thats not blocking anything it has windows all you have to do is wall up the windows and put in a door and walla you have a nice base. It has no animals around. You should be able to do that however when you first get there it pops up and says basically its a POI. So you have to wonder can I build here or not.
Thats right you cant build on obelisk it will not let you why not fix the game so you cant build on POI its that simple and solves most bans from happening.
I remember seeing a post about funcom saying to switch over to PVE or PVE-C but the matter of the fact is it is happening on all game modes, people can mass report you or report you for blocking one rock. How is conan exiles a sand box if you ar e limited on your building? It’s very odd and I hope they fix this before dropping new update because new and old players will just be getting banned left right centre
We can build wherever we want and as big as we want in singleplayer. That’s Funcom’s official response for complaints about the builds from promo pictures and videos, such as the Nemedian DLC.
I still have that message in my ticket that states we can build as big as a square on the map but ban says otherwise. Either way the better approach would of been to interact with clan leader or some form of communication to resolve the issue.

I havent gotten back on until the tos stabilize or I find a better similiar concept game.
What’s next is that people adapt to the new rules and don’t build on a POI, even if it takes banning 90% of the server.
Another option is that people come here and ask Funcom to change the rules.
“I was banned unfairly, because I didn’t break the rules” is neither.
It will be, after 3.0 update lands. Not that it matters too much, because the kind of people who complain because they can’t follow that rule will keep complaining because they can’t follow other rules. And most of the rules are unenforceable through gameplay mechanics.
Nope. Deal with it yourself. The PVE community never asked for the countless nerfs we got, either, but that’s beside the point.
As a Conan Exiles player – not a PVE player, or a single-player or co-op player, but a player of this game – I’ve had enough of the people who are happy to throw other players under the bus when it suits them, but can’t shut the hell up when the same happens to them.
Enough is enough. I support your ideas about better communication and clearer rules, but I draw the line at having to deal with crappy limits because some people just can’t be arsed to deal with the rules.
I agree wholeheartedly. Better communication, more clarifications of the rules – that kind of stuff is the way to go. But people never stop there. They want building limits and no-build zones and other shіt that ruins someone else’s fun, because screw those other people.
No need to even go that far, just have single player have no build restrictions at all. Who cares what people do in their own sandbox?
Have Officials have no build zones on anything that is considered blocking content and the admins can solve the clear malice/minor infractions or work arounds from there.
Simple hand waving “Well you should follow the TOS” is just crazy, I warned a guy about cool set of stairs he had built just the other day. I told him I liked them and no I am not reporting him but somebody with a grudge or just a jerk might and they are clearly listed in the don’t do that on the forums… and he said … what forums? Can you imagine how he would be feeling about the game and admins if he got banned.
I had to blow up somebodies structure to get access to a cooking recipe, they didn’t even know it was there. I told them and that was that. You sir are painting this issue as people who are aware flouting clear instructions when they AREN’T clear. And there are plenty of new players who have NOT the knowledge of where books, recipes or even where map markers will pop for people. To ascribing malice to these people

My want for non build zones on things that shouldn’t be built on I feel is a pretty simple ask. How does it “ruin people’s fun?” sound damn subjective me.

MY CLANMATES managed to ban people only by reporting them… even if they didn’t do anything wrong.
and it worked. and it wasn’t just one time =)
as well as we were banned too.
i have an old message from ignasis telling that “if someone blocked the sulfur lake, go there and break the claim with jars and trebuchet” lol.
But my clan got banned two times because of landclaim.
