Yes but is that enjoyable game play? To sit in a bunker for…what?..5 hours each and every night…yeah no thank you. Almost as fun as offline raiding. Pvp is dead because the proposition of success is actual counter productive to enjoyment. Even in the best cases where player vs player combat happens, it goes down in the toilet when you recognize that you may have made an enemy that will wipe your base when you aren’t looking and causing stress that negatively affects your offline psyche. Doesn’t sound like fun , IMHO.
Prove this or stop spreading falsehoods. You jump in and blah blah blah on every thread, yet have no clue what you are talking about.
You just make it worse with the lies.
I couldnt agree more with people against the build limit and how hard it is to defend a base when they transfer 30 people and keep transfering stuff. Even though they disabled transfer still not motivation to come back to a game that cant build a defendable base.
Base to big cant block trebs or gods.
Base to big I had 300 thralls of course it will be huge…
Does not pick a fight others start the fight fail the raid end up reporting.
The game became find waldo base and not actually something fun to raid.
Agree there but as a casual player, the time requirements to just maintain it as a risk vs reality of loss is just too great to make it enjoyable. For casual play, hidden bases are the only option as assault has drastically outweighed defense and being adept at the hiding game takes its own level of dedication of knowledge and cunning in the game most casual players aren’t willing to put in. So the end result is a lack of growth in the pvp. Lack of growth is inevitable death.
It’s difficult to prove anything when the response for inquiries requesting clarification are met with silence.
Equally likely that the admin in question had irritable bowel syndrome that day and just decided to wipe anything reported.
That’s the joy of an opaque system.
Official server building restrictions
Please remember that there are other players sharing the server with you. Restricting others’ access to content is not allowed beyond of course grabbing a spot for your base. If you wish to reign supreme on the map and hog all the resources and enemies, please consider single player or setting up your own server, or - in the case of PvP servers - play fair.
Some specific cases where we will act when made aware:
- Blocking of content in the game, such as dungeons, obelisks, resources and other areas of the game.
- Abuse of the claim system where blocks are placed for no other purpose than to prevent other players’ access to resources and building spots. Please check out our documentation about Land Claim Abuse on Official Servers for more information.
*** Massive constructions or over-use of memory intensive items leading to loss of performance both on client and server-side**.
Time will not be spent to carefully remove only offending pieces. All constructions belonging to the owner (player or clan) will be destroyed. There will be no refunds of materials or inventories.
So above is the build restriction. Massive constructions, We could all go and report on every server right now one of these. As Massive is not a measure ad open to interpretations of the players and/or Admins.
By the way..
We had a new clan arrive on our server via Direct Connect, reported all the bases in the meta spots across many clans, all got the wipe and a ban with the reason of “Abuse of the building system to block off content in the game”.(i know this because we run a discord for the server). It’s news to me putting doors on the entrance of the gutter is blocking game content and thats all we had, no other structures. Now this clan has land claim down on every meta spot and two weeks to build. The cycle starts agian, with another clan not liking this and reporting them. NICE!
Is that still in place?
The format seems a bit antiquated by the measure of things online.
If yes, would it trigger bans as well as the build removal?
Its still in place and I don`t know about bans.
Massive constructions is open to interpretation. Massive constructions leading to loss of performance both on client and server-side – which is the bit you so conveniently ignored – is something much less subjective.
I’m tired of the same bits of intellectual dishonesty being brandished in each and every one of these discussions.
Let me remind you again of a bit of conversation you and I had in this thread:
And now I’m reading that you blocked a POI, and it’s news to you that you broke the rules, despite the claim that you “clearly understand the rules”.
If a POI is not discoverable anymore, then players can’t complete the journey step 10.6 (explore the entire Exiled Lands).
No wonder even PVP players are getting tired of these discussions…
You do not need to enter the gutter to complete the journey step CodeMage. Also did you make theses rules up as they are not in the TOC? Are they just a made up community thing in the lack of definiton from funcom. I love people who think they are admins.
Yeah. I totally made it up. It’s not like any other players got banned for blocking POIs, or any of those other things I mentioned, either. Your case is definitely the first ever discussed here on the forums. ![]()
I still say those type of POI shouldn’t hold the same weight since you can literally feel these places were originally designed to be bases and the marker was put on afterwards as a name for the spot more than anything.
But by literal rules, it is enforceable
Yeah, and I could agree with you. But that just means we disagree with the rules, not that the rules weren’t broken.
And like I said, even the list I posted is not exhaustive – nor meant to be. People keep pushing this narrative about how being banned without breaking the rules is somehow a rampant problem, while completely ignoring the fact that Funcom doesn’t tell you where and how you broke which rule.
Love it “other area of the game” is so open you can be ban for any thing anytime. Good one.
The game mechanical already stop folks from build in area they don’t want you to build. This is a build game with PVP or PVE strings. If they don’t want you to build there then they should update the do not build data on the map. But instead the community need to learn my mistake and error.
There is no black and white here. still leads me back to show folks of the reports made on clans,
Yep. It really is good that they don’t have to stop and scratch their heads when some genius finds a novel way to screw with other players.
To be perfectly clear, I’m not talking about you here. I’m talking about how creative and innovative griefers are. To give you an example: there was a case, during Siptah early access, where a player came up with a way to block another player from building or expanding, by placing pet turtles, of all things, near his victim’s claim and setting them loose.
So yeah, it’s good that people like that don’t get a chance to come up with something that isn’t on some list and then complain about how they were “unfairly banned” because “they didn’t break any rules”.
They don’t want you to build there on official servers.
As long as the update 3.0 hasn’t landed, the no-build zones are enforced on all servers – not just official – and in single-player and co-op, too. People who don’t play on officials shouldn’t be saddled with additional no-build zones just because a fraction of people on official servers don’t want to follow rules.
This is the biggest problem, really. You can’t learn by trial and error if your error isn’t clear enough. Funcom needs to start making it clear to people how and where they broke the rules, and which rules they broke.
Once that is improved, those of you who are capable of adapting will learn. Others will eventually have to stop playing on officials.
Sounds like too many subjective rules to me and not enough objective statements and enforcement is leading to this.
Also if it is POI … then don’t allow building there. Simple.
Sounds like lazy ass admins and coders are the major culprit here
That’s rich, calling someone lazy when you can’t even be bothered to read an explanation that was literally in the post before yours:
怎么哪里都有你们?别在这给官方的不当行为辩解了,真就不删到你头上不知道官方的行为就是错误的?
Ok as best i can translate that you are asking why is he everywhere and something about behavior for Yan Fan?
Mind expanding that in English please?
