Is the game still developed?

Hey there,

I noticed that we haven’t heard any news for a while now. There also has been no video on the Funcom youtube channel for 2 months (3 months since last Conan chat).

Is the development on halt or is the team on long holidays?

All I am going to type it is just a personal theory - wish, you name it.
Scott junior is a perfectionist, I believe he asked for a dead line to correct the game and give to the players an experience like it should be. The game is unique, it is not a copy and it must be a wonderful experience for the gamers, all the players, from pc to platforms. I hope from the bottom of my heart that Scott and the wonderful staff of funcom will succeed this difficult mission. They deserve after all this excellent hard work a recognition.
Like I said in the beginning it is just my personal theory- wish, nothing more, still I don’t believe I am far from the truth.

I think they had a lot of regrets with how the first map and its systems worked on technical level and the devteam has mentioned that if they took more time to polish the game that it would have a much bigger player base. So with the new map they will probably take the time they need so it turns out in a solid state. I think we are nearing a year of development time on the expansion so hopefully we get a cool trailer soon. Funcom also have a new Dune game coming up and maybe they are applying some of the new tech for that game to conan as well.

Thanks for all the replies, they were reassuring. I was getting a bit worried there that we did not get any piece of info for a long time. I don’t mind if they take their time developing new content. Looking forward to it.

I bet the Corona Crisis is to blame.

You forgot #3 They were recently bought by Tencent. Like other company’s they sold out to the Asian Market.

Tencent just bought Funcom for $148,000,000.
That’s a lot of hookers and blackjack to go through. You might want to give them awhile.

Yes, they are still working on CE. Yes, they are taking the mandatory summer holiday/vacations in Norway. The CE team is in the Oslo studio.

Hate to be the one to break this to you Cattibria but Oslo isn’t in Sweden, it’s the capital of Norway.

Game is still being developed. We just released the newest update on consoles.
Once we’re ready to announce anything new, worry not that we will. For now, our team is hard at work on new fixes and content.

Also, please keep it civil. It’s not that hard.

Thank you guys for the update

Awesome, thanks for confirmation!

The game has been in a horrible state for over a year and the update which they knew had problems completely broke the game on xbox and 5 days later they have yet to make a single response to customers concerns. If they do indeed release new content before providing a playable game nobody in good conscious could recommend purchasing it. If you have not already spent to much time and money on this game do yourself a favor, leave now and save yourself the inevitable disappointment.

You guys get mandatory vacations? :astonished:

Oh, that’s just not fair.

not fair but true https://www.lifeinnorway.net/the-big-july-shutdown/

Instead of adding new map the should re-arrange the south of the map. From the desert to north of the river there’s like 1/4 of the whole world which is not worth wasting time by setting up a base. First goal is to get iron and if I have to run to the jungle to have some it’s better setting up first base overthere.

Hmmmm I wonder if the dev consider lowering the map size but increasing the player count so it easier to bump into players

Smaller map would be less strain on servers, but would lead into more competition for resources and make it easier to grief others by walling off or otherwise blocking major parts of the map.

And not everyone wants to bump into other players.
