Is there a guide for snake pets yet?

Now that we have pet snakes, is there a guide for getting Greater Cobras and the second largest snakes as pets? All that I have to go on is Wak’s video about shade spice Human flesh producing two Alpha Cobras out of ten.

I figured out the best way to get Alpha Cobras, and have one so far.

Giant anaconda + giant alpha anaconda is battle pass rewards only.
You can tame regular cobras and cobra alpha with exotic meat (3 regular 2 alpha but difference so tiny just don’t waste your time craft any you can).
Do not waste your time to lvl them up they gonna die anyway (300 hp max).
Use them with 0 lvl and just make a swarm (in this case quantity vs quality).
Deploy 10-20 of them to guard the area (or make snake pit or cellar).
They useless as followers (because you can have only 1 follower), but very OP in numbers while guarding the area.
When in numbers 5+ they can kill minibosses and multiple human enemys t1-t4 easily because of spam attack and staggering.
But they weak to the damage and if NPC manage to hit it (not every weapon and attack hit them) -they gonna die with 1-3 hits.
So cobras are some kind of disposable heavy hitters (DD guardians if you want) but they CANT take any hits. So use them with this rule in mind.
Yes, 20 lvl with best perks alpha cobra is better and can survive a bit more, but again it not worth your time. Just make 50 of them instead.
Use raw pork + exotic meat to 25% buff of damage.

We just summed up all you need to know in our Snake Pet guide. From best food to get Alphas, to the Battle Pass Snake:

Thank you. I already have a few Alpha Cobras on two of the servers I play on. At least two of them will become Alpha Anacondas, especially after seeing a video of one tearing through Stygian Raiders on Siptah.

Just more ornamental pets.

Until hitting level eighteen of the Battlepass. Then much like the video posted above, there will be a Greater Colossal Snake named Grumbo.

So, giant snakes are only available through the PAID rewards of the Battle Pass…

They probably aren’t OP enough to call them Pay to Win, but it is not a purely cosmetic item at all, so it falls in the same line :notlikethis:

How many times did Funcom say “Battle Pass will only be cosmetic, no P2W”?
I don’t know why they’re doing this… It’s sad because Giant Snakes do look great as pets

It’s been a fib from the start.
The only way to craft star metal punch Knives/claws has been the BP offerings for awhile.

The other possibility is that the people working on the BP make the reasonable assumption that the Base Game already has these things and that they are just making a skin. For all we know the code for star metal claws and large snake pets is already in the game, it was just not implemented for whatever reason, like crossbows.

It is questionable indeed. If it would be purely a skin with identical stats to the cobra I could understand it, but as it is, it is a different pet. Maybe they plan to introduce different Giant Snakes in the base game in future, maybe the same color as the ones in the desert and jungle (red-ish) - at least that would be an option.

This is the first time skin change stats so drastically?
Probably they gonna add basic version of giant python to the game later.
But in that case - BP reward skin is not good enough, at least it should have some different visuals (like armor and attire) to make it unique :hugs:
