I tried to open testlive in the background to update it while using solo live to collect Wiki data. Bad move?
There was no delay as is usually associated with an update, making me suspicious, thus, the question.
I quit live, then reopened testlive, still no download delay.
Did I stick myself with a reinstall?

Try verifying the files via steam for the TestLive client? There was some steam update as well. Maybe try restarting steam first?

Did both, all files validated both times. Main menu now shows …612, but no joy in searching for ‘pvp’ or ‘banner’ in feats at level 60 (forced from admin). Also, no delay in startup.
Reinstalling, found an old pizza that needs attention.
