I have a feeling you had these in your back pocket for a while now and were dying to suggest them.
of course he had @jmk1999 .
They are definitely late now. Usually they announce 1 week before the stream. So the stream will slip to March. In the last 4 chapters they kept themselves to the strict timetable, but this time they gave up. Maybe Dune 2 movie is out, the rush on the MMO design is intensifies. My prognosis is that the next chapters will be slow down 4-6 months until they reduced to occassional bug fixes only.
Every 3 months
Honestly Tweed, with the current ‘pricing’ that seems to be the Black Lotus Bazaar in a nutshell. The prices are unscrupulous, and at this point my wallet is closed on principal alone. As if the price gouging was not already bad enough, they are now charging even more for sets with less in them! I did a thorough comparison against 8 other games (happy to re-post it upon request ), and Conan Exiles is hands down the worst value for money of all the games I used in the comparison. It was even more than double the cost more machiavellian companies such as Electronic Arts (EA).
If that was a mount, I’d buy it.
Not as many as you may think.
This one mostly pulled them out of their fourth point of contact with the idea of Age of War is Nordheimer vs Stygian and we added a Bar.
The items this one had already in mind are as follows:
- Nordheimer Hoard Guard. Because why have a Stygian clerk for your hoard while defending it from Stygians?
- Zamoran Barkeeper Outfit. Since all barkeepers are Zamoran, there should be a Zamora style outfit, no?
- Severed Head on a Stick Helmet Display. Been thinking about that since suggesting the corpse style mannequin.
- Stygian Slaver Outfit. Honestly, Stygians are some of the most prolific slavers in the Hyborian Age.
- Hyrkanian Scout/Hunter Outfit. This one thinks Hyrkanians are painfully under represented.
- Cimmerian Bellows. This one has long pondered what could be given to the Cimmerians as Crom swag has been hard denied. This seemed like a good item to tie them to the processing of Steel and focus on Toil.
The rest was thrown together on the fly based on what we have gotten so far and what the themes of the age seem to be.
They were supposed to be samples of what may be consistent with what has already been offered.
If we were talking about what this one has actually been hoping for since forever…
Well that is not a Full Black Ice Build set in the style of the Temple of Frost and there is nothing Lemurian and only one thing Hyrkanian there. There isn’t even an expansion to the stable/lattice style in the Riders DLC to make it a full (sloped walls, ect) set. This one has a very clucking long list of what they want to acquire as premium content in this game. Of which only a half dozen seem to fit.
Yeah… I’m still waiting on interior frontier walls. I wanna use them instead of constantly having to flip the current ones backwards. Fences without spikes would be nice too.
You had me at Corpse Mannequin.
The rest is acceptable.
Wasn’t there an Aesir horse saddle that was cut from an earlier chapter?
Perhaps we’ll get another dive emoter.
It has been, by far, the best feature of Age of War.
This is my favorite game.
Sad that this may well be the beginning of the end
It’s certainly my favorite way to accidentally die.
@Mighty_Oakk I don’t think it’s dying but it definitely needs some TLC. I’d give it a shelf life of at least four more years if the projections of Dune’s release are accurate. It’ll take time to throw out CE2 and milk the bazaar.
Don’t get too worried yet.
It’s been the beginning of the end for awhile.
There may be some that predate the examples this one recalls…
But the game has already been killed several times.
The Tencent buy out.
The Server Merge-apocalypse.
The Battle Pass.
The Bazaar.
The Age of War.
Is it death by degrees?
Possibly.
However, this one thinks it is still in active development.
Games put out to pasture don’t have combat system overhauls. They don’t have new subsystems created from scratch. The developers don’t ask for more time to get it right.
A game dancing the death spiral has steady updates of new things to purchase (mostly rehashes of old things or barely altered things) and no content to use them on.
Love or hate the new combat system (this one hates it and could go on for enough text walls to secure the borders of both Imperial China and the U.S.) it is active development.
Love or hate the new Purge, it is active development.
Love or hate the Tavern, it is active development.
Love or hate raiding the Stygian fortress, it is active development.
A note about the Stygian fortress.
Do y’all have any idea how obnoxious it is to get an asymmetrical curtain wall to properly connect in this game? Seriously, the fortress is no mean feat, a speed build of it, with all the mock up and false starts would still likely be hours.
If this game were really swirling the lower reaches of the porcelain throne, it wouldn’t see the raw amount of work on it that we see.
Even if this one has other preferences for how it should develop, it is still developing.
this here.
Take it easy guys. The fat lady is not even in the premises.
This.
Frontier fences have such a pretty design if not for the cluster of super ugly spikes all over the outside…
This would be nice.
Well, there is a BIG movie coming out on March 1st. I bet they failed trying to release Dune during this time! Haha.
They are behind. We should be collecting triple XP, 4x harvesting. Whats going on?
March 1st and we got a “new exciting” gameplay video for Dune coming out.
Conan is the red-headed step child now. It’s obvious.
There is NO timeline for a new chapter for CE. Dune the movie is being released this month. Contractual obligations for Intellectual Property probably has Funcom tied to promoting Dune all month. Regardless if it will release this year or not, promoting the IP is probably part of the development gig.
Meanwhile CE is shedding it’s playerbase faster than WoW did during Gamergate.
