Is there a way I can get the Adventurer step for Rare Knowledge if I already have all the recipes?
Yes. I just did this yesterday and it was straight-up annoying as it did not recognize the steps as it should have. I went to the library, interacted with the scrolls and the big dude and… nothing. Tried for a bit and as I was leaving, got the pop up for finding the library. Went back and interacted with the scrolls again and the game accepted this for the journey step completion.

It’s not giving it to me at all. The character is old and pre-existed the current journey step system. It already most if not all recipes even before the new system was introduced. I just started playing it again and have been doing the journey steps. It seems I am unable to do this journey step due already having all the recipes .
Which step of the journey are you on? When I was having a problem, I was interacting with the scrolls while the journey wanted me to ‘find’ the location. The location did not register until I was leaving. I wasn’t playing on an old account but I had been to library previously and already found the location and learned about half of the recipes. But the journey still wanted me to find the library.
Basically, when dealing with the journeys, just do everything three times.
Started playing after the Journey steps was introduced. I got all the recipes from the library before starting the Journey, and it worked for me. I hope you resolve it.
Maybe you require a fragment of power for it to do the check/be interactable?

This step doesn’t require a scroll from the Library of Esoteric Knowledge. Any journal or other interactable item will do. I always leave the Relic Hunter Banners till I’m on this step, then I can pick it up and be just a few steps away from Conan.

I ended up getting it in an unexpected way. I don’t usually pay much attention to the banners of the various factions. But I clicked on the black hand banner and got the recipe for it, which worked. I never considered that something like banners would work too.
