Try doing the door, then stairs after. I think stairs can block door attaching. Also, I think the reverse is true for elevators. Elevator first, then door.

i thought i was going crazy, glad it’s not just me.

all khitan doors know matter where they are even if nothing is around it still wont let you place a door

I can confirm i cant place the khitan door as well not regarding any stairs near the door frame. Many people reporting on this same bug

for now there is a work around first place a sandstone doorframe and put the door you want in it then upgrade sandstone doorframe it with the khitan one

Like said, in the other post, i have khitan base, and no issue with khitan doors. About 12 doors so in my single-player base. Must be or stairs, or an other building element blocking them here.
