Killed on PvE from my own worker thralls (heatstroke)

Funcom really you made me very sad today

I went offline inside my base but apperently thralls went and turned all heat sources they could find and manage to kill me

Lost everything i made and was carrying on me
I will not be able to get it back but just a warning to other players even on PvE you can get killed from all the worktables if you are to hot and even offline

This has been a thing since early access in 2017.

Thralls cannot activate furnaces themselves. If you click on a furnace and logout next to it, you can suffer effects. Do no logout next to furnaces.

Well someone is not up2date thralls can now turn on fireplaces cooking stations furnaces and they all make heat

the thing you talk about was also disabled for years but heat and cold now again affects you with the latest update

but thanks for your thoughts and reply but a bit outdated info

In my testing with the update I had to manually turn on furnaces, bonefires, and cooking stations.

I’ve seen thralls randomly place themselves at a campfire and furnace as they cycled through their doings and the station would ignite/animate as if it was being used even though it wasn’t. Whether they were generating heat or not I didn’t check. Will try to next time. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are.

I might have to look into that. I wouldn’t have noticed a paused crafting station giving off heat in the area I was in.

I wouldn’t put it past furnaces giving off heat on their own even off (that happened for a bit in the past).

edit: I did a bit of testing and the furnaces and such are not being turned on. But they are ‘lighting up’ and giving off heat even if fuel is not being consumed. I don’t know if I would call this a bug, but given that we can now have bonfires lit without keeping them stacked with fuel, I might even call that a bit of a feature.

Just don’t log out next to them if bodies stay in world. And probably don’t go afk next to them.
