Kurak's book (Journey of the Sorcerer) - Completed, but sorcery menu is gone

,

I completed Kurak’s book (Journey of the Sorcerer). And after a bug, I lost the sorcery option in the main MENU. I can’t build the sorcery table, even after getting the book. Has anyone else had this problem and managed to fix it? Since there isn’t a single support email, I’m discouraged because it doesn’t seem to be difficult to solve.

Expect no valid response from Funcom or for them to do anything more or less than what amounts to nuisance at best and you will not be disappointed. I use a PS5 to play the game. Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the game? I have completed the sorcery journey and completely upgraded the Tome of Kurak a long time ago. If there is anything I can do to help you, let me know.

Greetings @neoerickvita ,

Can you confirm if this happened on single-player, private servers or official servers?

Can you also let us know what happened before you lost the sorcery option?

Thank you in advance!

Up until about a week ago, everything was fine… until I went to play, and my knowledge points reset (first game of the day). I only had 3 points to apply, and the more than 400 I had, disappeared. Everything I had learned, such as sorcery and cooking, for example, disappeared.

As if that wasn’t enough, my buildings evaporated, and in their place, huge bags with the few items I had in chests. However, I don’t want to start all over again, because of the weapons I had and also because of the minions. I started opening chests until I found the potion that restores the points to redistribute. I replaced the points, so far so good. However, I’m having to relearn (read everything again, like dictionaries and scrapbooks) to get my knowledge back. But the worst… is sorcery. Even if I get the book, I can’t relearn sorcery. I believe that because the cave already has a name on the map, even if you take Kurak’s book, the basic witchcraft techniques are not “learned”. Has anyone experienced this or know how to solve it please?

If you take a look through this forum from what you have described especially the loss of sorcery sounds very much like the latest hack, it seems as if the only way to regain the knowledge of sorcery is to recreate a new character.

Is this serious?

Unfortunately yes, I have had my first taste of this yesterday on an official server, I logged in to find all in my hotbar except my construction hammer gone, all in my inventory gone,my armour gone,I checked the event logs, no death,no events of any kind except a few things that had decayed in a loot bag that was in my inventory, which I had not dropped.

If you look at the forum you will see many threads regarding knowledge points gone, all inventory gone, locked chests behind locked doors gone, without a fight, without death, without a raid, and all without an entry in the logfile.

That’s bizarre…

There are a few paid for cheat programs that do this, I am not saying where but is easy to find but costly to use.

Pointless really!

But… this is Playstation plataform…

Like I said a quick look through the forum will highlight this here is an example.

But if you are playing single player then it could well be to do with the last patch as many on ps seem to be experiencing this I think @sestus2009 is the person to reach out with regards to ps stuff

@sestus2009 HELP US!

PS wouldn’t be experiencing these cheats.

There are a multitude of problems though with the Playstation version of the game, especially pronounced in singleplayer.

I would have though not either it was just that the second poster stated that his loss was due to a cheater, and this was on ps

It doesn’t seem like it would be that complicated for the devs… it would just be a matter of putting a trigger: if the player picks up Kurak’s book, or completes the Sorcerer’s quest, it enables “Sorcery”.

Some of the triggers for the journeys sometimes are bugged, others like the dungeon delver journey and exploring the vaults on siptah, I have to go in the dungeon then straight back out for it to start the journey or complete the next part of the journey.

I think these are long standing known issues.

When these bugs are reported, do the devs ignore them or do they take a long time to resolve them? I have over 150 hours in a save, you know… I didn’t want to start all over again…

That would be anyone’s guess, I am unable to say whether they take note of players listing bugs or wheter they ignore them, your best bet with regarding bugs is to hope that @Kikigirl sees this thread and responds, as she has been compiling a list of all the bugs and has been keeping track of what has been resolved also.

& @cyc

Funcom maintained a public Trello board for years so it is safe to assume that they still have an internal list.

Just like anything there are priorities and some things that appear to be “fixed” might come back later as broken again. This has been explained a few times too in that they’re working with spaghetti code from a very small team that threw the plate together with a hope and dream.

(deep breath) My frank advice is ditch CE on PS and if you must insist on playing on it, play on a multiplayer server.

Here’s why I say this:

PS hasn’t been afforded an optimization update and probably never will and singleplayer is rife with difficult bugs which are especially pronounced on PS.

150 hours might feel like a lot, it is, but restarting can be special too. I wish you the best and I don’t mean to sound mean.

Dude, thanks a lot for replying. It’s disheartening to read this, you know. But that’s okay. What can you do?
