Basic Info:
Platform: PlayStation 4
Issue Type: Gameplay
Game Mode: Single Player
Server Type: PvE
Map: Isle of Siptah
Server Name: I don’t play online so I don’t know
Bug Description:
My knowledge points show I have spent over 400, have 0 points left, but shows I barely have basic knowledge. Also, I bought all of the expansion packs for the game and those are gone too.
Bug Reproduction:
I did not cause this bug. I played one day and it was fine. It was a couple of weeks before I could play again and when I got back my knowledge and expansion packs were gone.
Note that the OP is playing in single-player. If they are getting hacked while offline then the problems are even bigger than anyone has imagined… More likely this is the same bug that has been reported by multiple PS singleplayers where the data gets corrupted (and playstation of course has no backup saves that can be returned to).
@Tachshwa the best advice I’ve seen from experienced PS players to avoid this problem in future is to always log out after only around one hour of play, reset the PS and then start again. THis should minimise the risk of data corruptiuon, but may not eliminate it entirely. Most advise playing on a server instead of singleplayer, because the playstation really struggles with trying to act as its own server as well as running the game (which is what singleplayer is in effect doing). I’m sorry that I can’t offer anything better.
@stelagel did I miss anything? Are there any extra suggestions that you can add?
I have one concern only, no other.
Did you loose your sorcery knowledge?
This is by far the worst knowledge you loose because it’s not obtainable again.
About the rest knowledge it’s really fine consider it a minor unfair penalty which you can retrieve extremely easy.
Not that the bug does not exist and it doesn’t need report, of course it does and thank you for reporting it, but 59 attribute points on lvl 60 and sorcery loss are extremely game breaking because you cannot do anything even with the admin panel.
There are plenty suggestions, either easy either extremely easy to retrieve loss, but if you lost sorcery i would suggest you to start all over again a new character.
And yes like @DanQuixote said, don’t play long hours straight. Every couple hours, log out slowly and restart your console. Plus play on performance mode not quality, ps4 cannot handle quality mode (starting menu - settings).
If you need suggestions for retrieving loss let me know, i’ll be happy to provide.
Thank you for reporting!
I tried playing the game and there are a couple of issues:
- It’s not awarding me knowledge points
- All of the expansions that I paid for are still missing.
As I said, that was the best advice I’ve seen from experienced playstation players for how to “avoid the problem happening again in future”. Most players advise that once your save file has been corrupted this way, you may not be able to retrieve everything that you have lost, depending on what exactly has been lost (as Stelagel notes - having only 59 attribute points instead of 60, or having lost Sorcery knowledge are completely unfixable).
For your lost knowledge points (other than Sorcery, if you have lost that, there is no way to relearn it other than starting a new character) - use the admin panel. There is probably a way to reset the points. If not, just use it to spawn ‘Tablet of Power’ and or ‘Fragment of Power’ and use enough of them to get back all the points that have been lost.
For the missing DLCs, the best I can suggest is that you try reinstalling/verifying files, and make sure that all of the DLCs are listed. If you still cannot get access to them, then you may need to contact Funcom - their help desk is usually the place that players are directed to go to report problems with purchased items, and is available here.
When not connected to the internet. That is, when offline. You may not see the dlcs. I haven’t tried it but there are online items.
