Log on to find I've died and all my items decayed

I am trying to figure out how I died and lost all my stuff. I logged out near my base, with nothing around to attack me. When I log back in I’m dead and no loot or body to be found. When I checked the event log I see all my items have decayed.
Is there any way to get the items back. Loving the game but not this scenario.

if you are indeed playing singleplayer you can just spawn the items from the admin panel but in order to understand what happened to you, you need to give more information such as: where is your base located, what armor did you wear, which materials did you use for the base.

the reason for you dying is most likely from being too cold or too hot because the perks stop working when you log out.

I was in a black ice base in the Sahara and when I logged on to find all my loot decayed for absolutely no reason this has happen twice and explanation would be appreciated

First are you playing online or solo? Second you said you logged out near your base not in it?

If solo it could be what @Narelle suggested. If online and you logged out outside of your base you may have been killed by something in the exiled lands. It’s not hard to find something to kill unconscious people even in PVE.

Inside or near the base? Did u have full house buff? What did you wear? Cold armor? Just drop your stuff in a chest next time.
