Lost Character Official PvP

Hi all- I have spent the past 16 hours investing into my character just to have it disappear upon rejoining the server. How can I fix this issue? My clan mates tell me my body is there, but I am told to create a new character when I rejoin. How do I resolve this issue?
Please ask me for info if you need it!
