Every time I try to connect to my friends server it tells me “Lost internet connection. You must he connected to xbox live in order to play online. Please ensure you have an active xbox live connection.” I have a active ultimate subscription right now so Im not sure if this is a game issue or a xbox issue.
Are you able to connect to any online official servers?
If you paid for your Ultimate today there is sometimes a lag in service.
Try a console hard reset
