Logged in today, Dec 18, 2022 and all my personal inventory is gone, including items that cannot be replaced.
Are you playing on PvP or PvE-C server? Did you check your event log? People are going to need more specific info to help you.
Also, to add to what @Archivist asked, official, dedicated, or single player? Were there mods? These are all factors in what the potential issues can be and what to do next.
PVE, Official Server, Event Log EMPTY, no events. I logged off in my base after putting thrall on “guard”. Everything was normal on log in, except all the items on my player and in my player’s inventory were gone. I did not die. Logged in right where I logged off. Many players on my server said they’ve experienced the same issue, so much so that they store transfer every item from their player into a chest prior to logging.
When you say empty, was it empty empty or just no entries that are relevant to your issue. Did you activate the filters and press submit. The event log is never really empty, hence the question.
That could be a problem, many players don’t actually understand how event log works. There has to be something explaining what happened.
Empty, no entries. With that said, a tutorial on the log’s funtionality would be helpful and allow the end user to independently investigate, potentially reducing the number of bugs being reported. The Event Log is not exactly intuitive.
Moving on, I will turn off all filters and “submit” my event inquiry.
It will have to wait as the server does what it does so often, tells me, “Your ping is higher than the maximum allowed on the server.” which is bunk. The server shows 295ms when mine when I test is 20ms.
Thanks for responding to my issue.
Ok, after adjusting filters in the event log to get under the max of 200/200 I discovered my player died due to starving. Thirty minutes after that all my gear decayed.
So how is it possible that my player died while I was logged out of the game?
I have NEVER walked away from the game w/o first logging out of the server.
I’m looking for an understanding here to prevent it from happening again. This must be a legitimate bug if players on my server are recommending storing your gear in chests prior to logging out of the game to prevent it being lost. My perspective is something is broken. If this was my project, it would never get by Beta testing, let alone User Acceptance testing.
Lol what i lost is NOT “re-obtainable” as I play on the Exiles map and was able to craft voidforge weapons using a finite amount of Eldarium when server transfers were allowed. That finite source of Eld has been exhausted.
If you read my post in its entirety you would have been aware that I play on a PVE server …my body cannot be looted.
My frustration is only amplified when I get someone like you with a condescending elitist attitude talking down to me as if you had to dumb things down.
Here’s a quote from my Mother, who is a saint. If you can’t speak to someone civilly don’t speak at all.
Hey @Caroll
if your team plans to remove the eldaruims from the people who transferred it to the exile map.
can you let us know in advance? Please
Yeah this game has some definite bugs with dying while logged out. I once logged in to find I lost everything, checked the event log and saw I had been killed by a lynx. A lynx killed me, on a PvE server, while I was logged out, and while I was surrounded by thralls that could kill the lynx in 2 seconds. Nice game.
(my theory)
you were in a small room. with a small door.
the slaves were outside the room.
a player has drawn the enemy to your position. and your slaves couldn’t get through the gate.
and the enemy ended up killing you.
because when several slaves try to enter in the door at the same time. they stay stuck.
It’s that ?
No, I was in a large room surrounded by leveled thralls with the best gear that routinely slay the wandering lynx in two seconds. Also it happened right after the server restarted. My theory is there is a poorly thought out loading order of populating the world and a window during which conditions that should never happen, do happen. I suspect perhaps the game loads players, and npcs/mobs, and activates AI before loading thralls and activating their AI. So either my thralls did not exist in-game yet or their AI was not activated yet. I have to say I was also surprised that an offline player would be targeted and attacked by the AI.
Welcome in conan xD
well it might be this if it really happened at restart , it might be what @MENISTHETURK said , as there is a “window” ( rather a discrepency ) in the radius of wich wildlife damage , and thrall damage , kicks in , if someone stays at the right distance from your thralls but is still within the right distance for the wildlife to kick in , then a lynx can kill you while still being surronded by thralls that do try to defend you , it’s just they don’t deal damage
also , it might not be intentional , as if it was on a PVE server there’s no point in going in the hassle of this ( it’s not like it’s an easy thing to pull off especially with a lynx and strong guards ) since you can’t loot others
Sorry for your loss , but as @Ragnaguard was trying to say , your body is supposed to stay in the world even if you loged out , no matter the server type , also he didn’t said you could be looted , he was just transcripting the tip to you in full , would you have liked for him to tamper with the tip , just to stay relevant to your problem ? and as unfortunate as for dying of thirst which is indeed a bug ( hence the report reveiced tag ) , dying while being logged off is quite common ( depending on if you built in extreme temperature areas , or playing in mode that has pvp times and tend to like sleeping right under the stars )
So the game has another fun bug that may allow looting other people - if you kill enemies on top of a player’s body and skin the enemies, you will also skin the player. Nice game tho!
Ohhh. you mean the items of the player’s backpack transfer to the enemy’s backpack?!
mhm i didn’t play on purely pve servers , so my knowledge of it’s mechanics is rather limited , but what I’m interested in now is to know if after 30 minutes , does your corpse turn into a lootbag , and is that bag lootable by all in pve , or does it just despawn … anyways thanks for the answer I can see a bit better why people would do it , but you should definetly report this as a bug ( the skinning thing )
you can destroy a player’s corpse. I think after 10 or 15 minutes the bag disappears.
what he just said seems to be something possible.
but I never tried.
something interesting to know thank you
