Many NPCs are doubled

I started a new game on the EL map and was surprised to notice that some animals were doubled. This applies primarily to crocodiles. Where there used to be one crocodile, there are now two grazing. But even if one crocodile is visible, as it approaches you it splits into two.
The same applies to some human NPC, for example, I noticed this in pirate camps.
When killing such a double NPC, the system counts double experience points.
I wonder if this happens to you too?

If you are referring to the croc between the roots of a tree on the southern river in the swamp/jungle that splits into two crocs as it emerges, that has been like that for as long as horses have been in the game (maybe before as well, but that’s as far back as I know for sure).

An old bug they’ve ignored for way too long, but as we all know the age of microtransactions updates take priority over game quality these days.

Many crocodiles and hyenas around the Nub River, even the boss crocodile by the lake and that double…

Most likely the mod “Underdark of Acheron 2.0” was causing the problem. Although, in principle, it should not have done this, and nothing like this had ever happened before. Removed it, and the doublings of crocodiles and hyenas disappeared.

Some of the double spawns happen with no mods. I never use mods and it’s happened to me quite often. It’s not the worst bug in the game, not even close, but it should have been fixed a long time ago.

To be honest, I never saw it in my single player game. That’s why I was surprised to see one animal moving towards you, but in fact there are two of them. :face_with_monocle:

Single player or official, mods or not, prepare to see them going double anyway. It’s rare and tbh, if you start the game with a Musashi then they can be even fifteen .
It’s a bug clearly, report it if you wish.

Hello buddy! Now, after removing the mod, I don’t see any double NPCs, so the problem is indeed solved.

I absolutely believe you. But do know that rarely you may see it happen again. In your case probably it was constant, so yes, removing this mod was a really good move. It would be nice if you report this to the mod author too so he can work with it.
Have fun in your Vanilla version brother, welcome back home :metal:.
