In some northen areas grass is missing and you see clearly that its not natural and more likely caused by some sort of bug. I will post images where I have found issues with grass.
All one has to do is to go to locations on my screenshots and see for themselves.

Thats just iggy mowing the lawn. He is terrible at it.

We are aware of some areas having missing grass so we’ve passed this additional information over to the rest of the team for further investigation.
Curious how many thralls you have in that spot second picture? 
There are certainly areas south of the mounds which are just barren. I cant recall exactly which patch it happened with (before 2.7, maybe even as far back as 2.5) but I think it coincided with when something was adjusted that caused a lot of mods to have double spawns all over the map areas where they touched the map. So I think its a lingering effect from that change.
I have full size viking town and two farms and two small size towns in the north, totalling about 300 thralls and 100 animals.
