Some textures or grass are missing in large areas. And grass seem to load only when you are near an area. There is something wrong.

Don’t know about that specific spot, but view distance on grass has always been configurable via cmd.

r.viewdistancescale (insert number here 1-3)

Isn’t that the same as foliage quality graphics setting? Which (as a trick to help finding pets) is to set to low/no to be able to find the small pets and back to your normal settings afterwards so you can have your lovely grass as always.

View distance is how far away it need to be before it renders. With the method you mention distance doesn’t matter

I confirm. I noticed the same thing near Freya Hovel. Large areas completely without grass. It seems to be related to some newly modified terrain.

Is it permanent?

In the DefaultScalability.ini file you can add numbers beyond 3 and that value stays after you quit the game and start playing again. But have to have a backup because sometimes an update overwrites it.

I think you can actually edit the other ini files and they won’t change after an update (the ones under steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor). It’s been FOREVER since I did it (years), and I’ve sinced re-installed Conan on a completely different hard drive, so I don’t have my old ini files anymore. Anyways, pretty sure if you just add what you need to the right ini file, it’ll stay there.

But, and I haven’t experimented with this. When I hopped in-game to make sure it was still working prior to my post, I noticed that my changes seemed to stick on multiple relaunches of the save file/game. Which it didn’t use to do that before, not when you did it via CMD. So, that may have changed at some point and I just never noticed.

Ahh, many thanks! You saved me a f***kton of time. I hated comparing what was changed and then modifying the default and base .ini files after updates…
