[Describe the bug here]
The horse becomes slanted/tilted, as do other animals, and they stay that way pretty much the rest of the session or until they are randomly fixed by something. IT’S THE SINGLE UGLIEST THING I’VE SEEN IN ANY GAME THAT LOOKS AS GOOD AS YOURS. I STRONGLY SUGGEST: either fixing the animations or simply removing whatever code it is that makes them align to the terrain so poorly. This is amateurish, and I am speaking as one of the original hardcore gamers of our time having played these games since home computers were first sold nearly 40 years ago. I don’t care if my horse and pets and the monsters stay level at all times, it’s a lot less ugly than them ending up upside down or with their face in the ground, it’s ridiculous frankly. Just remove terrain alignment for all actors if it’s too much trouble to get it working, and maybe implement it again later if you actually figure it out.

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. mount a horse or get it to follow you
  2. get a pet to follow you
  3. watch as either horse or pet end up literally tilted at up to a 90 angle and stays like that even if you ride the horse, and it looks stupid as f* and it’s not enjoyable at all because it makes my pretty game look fugly and amateurish at best

The developers are aware of this issue.
This began shortly after a previous patch intended to fix other, more important issues.
From my own experience, this only happens when playing solo. It has not happened on the rented server for multiplayer. AFAIK, it does not happen on official or private servers running multiplayer.
When it does happen, I set the animal to guard and then relog.
This usually fixes the orientation of the animal to the ground so it displays correctly.
This is only temporary for now until a patch comes out that will correct this. They are busy addressing other more pressing issues, but they’ll get around to this eventually.

Again, quick fix for now is set the animal to guard (if possible) and relog.

I know this is of little comfort knowing the glitch will happen again, requiring you to relog each time it happens. But be patient and know this will be fixed.
