My friend's Journey progress resets every time they join our dedicated server

I run a dedicated server that only my friend and I play on and for some reason my friend’s Journey Progress is always reset back to nothing when they join. They’ll progress through the suggested actions during a game (like craft arrows, make a bed etc.) but every time they join again all their Journey cards are greyed out and it’s telling them to do the actions again.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Is it a completely separate dedicated server or do you mean they join you via co-op? I think with co-op that could happen but it would be strange indeed on a dedicated server.
