In my personal experience with conan exiles, after you get a good weapon pretty much everything is easily killable. Because almost none of the early enemies are able to keep up with you after your stamina has run out.
Also, Even when creatures are running after you they have to do a really long attack animation wich gives you too much time to dodge or run away from so they will probably never hit you. I would like this to change, so enemies are really dangerous. Even early enemies like the crocs and all of that stuff. If you run away you are pretty much always safe. So my suggestion is to either make the attack animation time shorter or give them an attack while running so they can always hit you. Please listen to this. It would make the game a lot more immersive! Thank you. I hope you do something with this. I absolutely love this game to bits.
My personal experience with enemy attacks an what I would really like to change. I hope you see this
Dodge, fight back, climb? Op is right, animations are too long, PvE is childs play because of that.
I think some of the animals need updated attacks. Spiders for example need an initial leap attack with no prep time just like a regular spider they have an initial rapid engagement before the fight starts. Afterword increase the animation to normal. Wolves could give a howl that can call additional wolves, after all they are pack attackers, that makes it seem the random 1-2 wolves, traveling alone for some reason, out there are not alone. Otherwise the animals seem fine as they are just need an update to attacking behaviors.
Every enemy in this game is too easy. Doesn’t matter your level. Doesn’t matter your equipment. The only thing your level and equipment determines is how long said encounter will take.
The only Boss fight that is difficult is the Kinscourge because he does have the ability to hit you like a truck, even if you can just dodge all of them because his attacks are telegraphed.
The rest of the bosses? Bone Dragon finds himself stuck in the terrain 99% of the time and cannot hit you. Abyssmal Remnant you just run in circles til he falls out of the acid pool. Barrow King hits like a mosquito - bring enough healing items and stand toe to toe with him until he gets your health to a 1/4 and then go heal and do it again. Sand Reaper Queen in the Passage doesn’t even attack. Witch Queen can be stun-locked. Scorprion, Alligator,Rottbranch, Sand Reaper world bosses you can kill without even attacking them. And if you don’t like that method or know it, just put up a U shaped wall with thralls on top or just yourself and shoot arrows until whenever it dies. That method works on the rest of the world bosses, as well as dragons. If you don’t want to do the U shaped wall method, then just find a rock to stand and shoot away. The Demon Bat on Tower of Bats has only a small radius it can actually move in, so go aggro it, stand by the stairs where the recipe book is and shoot it to death.
If none of that convinces you, you can simply walk away from any enemy in this game 100% of the time. Enemy attacks are all telegraphed and take wind up animations to actually do. So even if that sabretooth can outrun you and keep up with you, it eventually stops to do its attack animation, and that animation makes it so it an never hit you. If you get afraid of any of these enemies, just climb on a rock, go in the water, hang off the side of a cliff. The enemy AI is so pathetic it forgets you even exist and goes back to wherever it’s predetermined spawn location is.
The problem is none of these enemies provide any threat. There is no danger. Weather effects don’t even have any danger once you get to Vit30. You can literally walk the entire map, naked, with no weapons at that point and nothing has any ability to kill you.
Thing is you don’t need to build a wall each time you encounter a critter.
You can build a base by the scorpion near Tower of Bats, for example, and place your wall, or a stairway to heaven that will make it so you don’t even have to attack it to kill it, that will exist for eternity and just use that to kill the scorpion, over and over and over, until you end up with more keys than you’ll ever know what to do with.
What enemy in this game gives you any fear, anxiety or worry to encounter? And what is it about that enemy that gives you that reaction? Curious, since you don’t believe “those claims.”
And that’s why I think the devs should see this and make the game alot harder. Because you can basically outrun everything exept bowmen. And that should be fixed imo. Just running away from something should not always be an option, even when you have no stamina you can easily outrun most creatures because the attack animations are just too long.
Honestly I really hope that the combat gets updated. I literally can defeat Npc’s with metal gear and stuff with a stone axe if I really wanted and that is just really sad because I would like to have really cool battles and stuff.
So devs. Please do Something about this.
The only dangerous human npc is the clubsman and one of the only dangerous creatures is the leopard in the jungle. I really want a challenging game without literal 5 second attack animations and that they just stop attacking whenever you hit them.
But the cat is one of the only ones who does that. I can easily outwalk an elephant because of it’s attack animation. It’s just not fun at all. It would be amazing to actually have a challenge and to have you actually need to run away from the creature.
