I doubt Funcom will wipe everyone’s thralls without a pop-up warning in-game several days to a week in advance.
Did Vathis wipe had ingame notification?
(Not a popup with a link to a forum post)

You can get even more than that if you use alts, the way I explained above

Except, this doesn’t work as well on consoles, and placed thralls can’t be transferred. The point is, it doesn’t pay to join a clan if you lose your thralls.
But i though all PVE officials filled with so many Kumbaya friends, they would rally to help during purges. Or is that a falsity spread on these forums?
No need to be snide. Yes, all of the PVE servers I played on have a community that will happily rally to your help during a Purge. You know what the problem is? You have to know you’re in danger in order to request help. There are two scenarios in which this can be difficult:
- You just couldn’t be there at the moment the Purge started. I don’t know, maybe you were stuck in traffic, maybe you had to work late to meet a deadline, maybe your son has a concert and you’re not a shitty parent and you wanna go see him play
Point is, you might not be there and nobody will help you because nobody knows about it.
- Someone built relatively close to you, through no fault of yours. They’re getting purged, but you have no idea. The Purge spawns closer to their base than yours and starts wrecking your stuff. Yes, I’ve actually seen that happen on various occasions. No, it’s not far-fetched.
But thanks anyway, because you just gave me an idea for a suggestion: announce a purge to everyone on the server, regardless of their clan.
Wonder if funcom will be happy when people put down a thousand + worth of wall palisades in an area after this
The problem is not getting help or not, but the other must also be online… Last time I had help with the human purge…
And it was really great, as I had a DC. Got armorer, alchemist and an archer.
3 days before the same guy had also a human purge but his animals killed many and I wasnt at home…
Maybe many dont ask for help by purges, as fear someone steals good T4?
I traded with this guy already many things, also thralls, so I trusted him.
Most Interactions with others are dungeons only.
Oh, crap. That might happen. I’ve seen bases like that and it’s really, really bad. Not only it causes lag in some cases, but the palisades have the tendency to load last, so you’re running by a base and you start taking damage from spikes that you never even saw.
Also, it’s a bloody eyesore.
Wow, feels like another troll. When we are on and asked to help, we do. It’s like your insinuating something here.
It is ridiculous for PC servers to have a limitation to improve console performance.
Computers play on one server, consoles play on another server, is like arresting the killer’s brother to fight killings.
Or are you saying that you want to “limit PC players”, not because they would directly hurt you, just to “spare” more server for console gamers?
This is bizarre! for God’s sake don’t really let me believe this would really be the end for me! and I’m already very suspicious that this is what is happening.
And when we talk about applying this mechanics to COMPUTER servers and even PVE things get even more bizarre, where PVE gamers on PC fit this story, we will simply be “sacrificed” just so others don’t feel “harmed alone” "? just how many games crash graphics on the PC just so they don’t look inferior on consoles?
Open your eyes, we’re no beasts, it’s 2019, whatever can be discovered believe it will be, and players have already proven that they no longer accept being “punished” for crimes they didn’t commit.
Take a look at EA, Ubisoft and Blizzard and ask what it is like to find out how unprofitable it is to find out that you have let your players down, take a closer look at all that you proposed, it’s a very dangerous and radical proposition, especially in a game we play 3 years.
Unfortunately they managed to transform a billiard moment of the game, with mounts, with the system of raising slaves … in a tragic moment that revolts the whole community and the story is already spreading from yesterday to today!
The funniest thing I recently reported that a “neighbor” of mine filled the sandstone map, when I speak filled it is a wall of supremeu to the unnamed city, literally breaking the map in half, with PHOTOS and server data, to this day NOTHING has been done.
I am not the “hate being” I love the game, I spent over $ 300 on it with 8 DLCs this is not hate, and precisely this “love” that makes me waste my time “fighting” for it and don’t tell me that 3 years later I will be punished for the consoles to benefit, at least do not leave me the feeling of being used.
Yes, that’s another good point !
If consoles are the problem, then put a limit on the console versions for God’s sake !
It’s not like we can cross-play anyway, so why should we share the same limitation ?
I beg the devs not to do this. Building an army of thralls is one of the two reason I play this game (the other being build a nice, small city) !
They’re not the problem. They just suffer the symptoms harder than PCs. The problem is in fact that huge army of hundreds and hundreds of thralls you want to build. It’s putting too much strain on the servers. Not to mention other people’s machines. And no, better servers won’t fix that because you’ll just build a bigger army and we’ll be right back where we are now within a few days. Probably even within an hour if you’ve already got a bunch stuffed in a vault or something waiting to be placed.
They also want those huge land claims to be harder to defend. A limit on thralls is part of that.
It’s putting too much strain on the servers
Do they? When no one is around the thralls, does the server do anything with them?
Same with bases… They only decay, when someone goes near there.
They’re not the problem. They just suffer the symptoms harder than PCs
Then why we have the SAME limit ? If PC suffer the symptoms easier, then we can have an higher cap.
Also, I’d like to remember you that Capitals have a HUGE amount of NPCS (Black Galleon has over 60) and there’s no lag at all there.
We can build huge cities with hundred of thousands of building parts which takes MINUTES to fully load and become visible bu we can’t have more than 60 thralls ? To me this look totally senseless …
Finally: solo players can have 55, but clan can have up to 100 ? If I remember correctly there are a lot of people complaining about clans being already too strong compared to solo players.
So yes, this cap IS the problem. Maybe it’s not your case, but there are a lot of people here who likes to build cities or strongholds and fortify them with thralls. Needed or not, we LIKE to have our small armies and that’s one of the reason we play CE.
They also want those huge land claims to be harder to defend. A limit on thralls is part of that.
Harder to defend = need more thralls to defend, since we don’t have ubiquity
also, with the upcoming leveling system, gather a huge, full trained army will really require lot of work.
Another very important point is that today the servers operate at 10% to 20% of capacity, the server that I play myself is usually with 5 to 7 people online, I believe this should happen to most of you.
There was a time when the game operated at 100% capacity and 40-person servers online, and people “waiting” for a seat to enter, with NO LIMITATIONS, and the game ran perfect with hundreds of bases from hundreds of people. .
I am not saying that the game “failed”, it is natural games with a life span to fall and stabilize in a fanbase (us) that in the case of Conan is quite stable for some time.
But the point is, there is no explanation for the servers being overwhelmed with such a low number of people using them, far below “programmed”, the only new fact in this story is the addition of consoles, once again consoles get into the issue. .
We’re not understanding, so are the consoles sucking all the servers, more than the PCs when they were crowding servers with 40 people online? It would be the only logical explanation, so look at how such a radical decision taken unilaterally, extremely poorly explained and unrealistic, created a real pandemonium in the community.
I don’t like the idea of limits, but you could work with realistic numbers like 300 slaves per player, especially if talking about PVE for PC, it wouldn’t be thousands as some mentioned, but at the same time it wouldn’t be absurdly punitive for everyone, and believe me 300 Slaves happen quickly in our lives at PVE, it is these people who “get involved” in the game who get excited about buying a new red curtain, a new luxury bed, a new armor with the same attribute points, but only for beauty. … in DLC, I fit this profile, the profile of players who buy all DLCs for the reasons already widely cited.
We’ve merged all topics covering this issue into this one. Please continue discussing this topic but remember to be nice to each other and keep the feedback constructive.
That reminds me of a thing I witnessed.
Daicas was fighting a scorpion boss, 2 hits brought him down to half life. (He has 900 armor)
I ran away. Think the catch up timer applies to weird things. Like poison… or maybe I negated his armor with my sword… it was really strange.
You get 55 for yourself. It’s not much better, especially if you have outposts across the map.
Sh.t is happening a lot with thralls, most of the time when I’m fighting a dragon boss, my thrall is doing nothing at all, the target is maybe to big or I don’t know, the joy of thralls
Ahhh. That makes sense now.
The first thought I had was that my PvE clan would not be as affected as some others. We have joint bases and share all resources. We have a “Used it? Then replace it.” approach. Our main base has individual houses, but is maintained by all. We have bases in other map areas that are also maintained by everyone.
I do play with allies who who all refer to his base, or her base, or I need to touch so and so’s base because he’s on vacation. They are clans, but they play as single players. They don’t share resources, and once a clan had a slight falling out over someone taking some aloe soup from a clan member’s base. Those clans are the ones that will be hardest hit by an artificially low limit.
I don’t mind a cap. But, if the cap is 50, 55, 75 per player, then it’s PER PLAYER. Why should you and your team mate lose 25 thralls each because you joined together?
