New journey steps -- I came to ignore them

After starting about 10 characters since the Kurak patch I’ve come to ignore the new journey steps.
I cann’t get myself to even do the opening steps anymore.
All your effort to put it in game, it looks pretty. But no, it’s not fun.

I don’t want to juggle journey entrances, only to discover which ones don’t trigger to plausible actions.
My jaw dropped multiple times because of the “rewards”.

Like the cooking thing. All this of effort to revamp it but really gruel is all I use. Not because gruel is amazing, but there is not incentive to cook anything better.

Like the religion thing. I pick Crom not because it’s amazing, but then I don’t have to bother with the rest.

Would you play a game with me to see how things work out?

Understand my level 60 character not bothering my alternate character doing some just not worth it.

Some steps get repetitive too. How many times we need to skin an animal for different journeys? It should trigger all.

On the other hand, how many times do you skin an animal regardless of journeys? It’s not like you have to go out of your way to fulfill that step.

As long as you remember to toggle the journey first (my biggest grievance with the system is the overly micromanage-y nature of it).

Private PvP servers wipe every 4 - 8 weeks.

No reason to waste your time on journeys, unless you literally play the full day.

The only journey that you should do is the dungeon delver for the ranger armor. Everything else is … yeah, waste of time.

Speaking of the dungeon delver journey, the step “Eat the Flesh of Remembrance” is really weird. Not to mention that sometimes you do not get any flesh proces when you farm the boss and then you have to do that shit a 2nd time…

Well, it’s good that the journey system is entirely optional then

It’s a nice little something extra for people who want to bother with it… and while a lot of people are initially curious about them and might feel some early need to do them all… I’m pretty sure in time this will become more of a targeted thing… like… you need a specific reward? say ranger armor… you go and do that journey line and don’t bother with the rest unless you need them

Personally I completed most of them in a day or two in a very casual manner on and off and didn’t have a single issue :man_shrugging: though I did have the advantage of knowing how each of them triggers from helping others with that information beforehand :stuck_out_tongue:
