Both Khari Steel and Obsidian should become more meaningful. It could be used for
new defense mechanics against other players or purges, like fences, spikes, traps
a new kind of elevator (maybe with storage option or simple a larger one that can hold more players at once)
new fridgeversions (maybe one specifically for holding animals or thralls)
additional chests or storage containers
weapon and shieldholders (maybe a floor stand version)
a floorstand for armors
new drawbrigde variants
new planters (seriously every building dlc should have their own variante) or a big gardenplot or something for growing a tree
additional building pieces like chimneys that you can put on your buildings
new signs (wooden ones are ok but I wouldn´t mind to have metal ones too)
a lock that you can put on or in a chest you made to make it private (clanleaders should be able to always open it)
new hot dancer, deko, priest outfits (khari, obsidian, chitin (it needs more purposes too)
grind khari and obsidian into powder, use the firebowl cauldron to make the potion of burden (khari + obsidian + dragon powder (it should be expensiv), give it to an deployed thrall. Your thrall now gains 5 more inventory slots (only one time usable per deployed thrall).
Raw Obsidian might sense for traps, but I donât think Composite Obsidian or Khari Steel would.
These are just requests for new variants of these items. I would love to see new variants too, but neither Khari Steel nor Obsidian would make sense as a requirement for any of them.
Honestly, I think the current fridges are fine, but even if we did get a new fridge, I donât see how Khari Steel would make sense as a component. Obsidian might work though, glass is a poor conductor of heat and the Obsidian is likely a higher quality glass than the junk we get from melting crystals.
I think a Khari Steel chest would be a fine addition. Not obsidian though, an obsidian chest would shatter with one good whack from a heavy hammer.
The only reason to make such a thing from rare materials would be for looks, which is fine, but Khari Steel is just bleh-purplish steel. Obsidian holders would probably look much nicer.
Something like this should be built from standard construction materials like hardened brick, not rare metals.
More locking options should just be a normal feature on all chests and doors, not require the addition of a lock.
I am not opposed to more outfits, but we already have existent equipment and they are not material sinks. I do not think these are requests Funcom is likely to fulfill either.
Iâm not sure such a potion is actually possible within the game mechanics, but it is an interesting idea if it is possible. I donât think eating enchanted steel, powdered glass, and explosives is a good way to get it though.
I would dearly love to see one of the Khari armour sets as a heavy set. Iâd also like to see more fleshed out arsenal bits.
A few placeables, perhaps a witchfire protected torch finally, or some furnishings are a lead
Regarding weapons, perhaps recipes for the items from the Warmaker or Priest King collection could be crafted. But as they are Khari, the recipes would use power frags and lots of Khari steel.
You do not get what this thread is about. You are all about realism, finding a purpose that fits your logical mind. But this is a game, a game that is everything about gods, religion, weird rituals, fantasy creatures, resurrection, witchcraft, soccery, human eating and showing other people your giant penis after you consumed a potion of endorment.
The thing is, the game has limits to what it can offer to us, purpose wise. If I can drink a potion that contains gold, silver and ichor, a little khari steel will not make me die. Yes, we already got elevators and fridges, but that doesn´t mean we can´t get more of them. It doesn´t hurt anybody to have more variants. Ofc we can just leave everything the way it is. But thats not what this thread is about or is it? If you have better ideas then mine, bring it to the table. I am very interested to see what you have in peto. I simply would like to see some more options for certain items to be used. I do not care about realism, I just don´t want my chest to overflow with items that have no purpose.
Both? Xuthal toes the line between fantasy and science fiction very gracefully. Another key point in saying sorcery and technology are one and the same
This thread is about me wanting Funcom to add something that isnât finite to spend Khari Steel on. Of note are the words âFuncom to add,â so suggestions need to be things Funcom are more likely to actually consider.
Unless they already have something in the works, convincing them to add anything made from Khari Steel is already going to be a challenge, so I need to make it as easy for them as possible.
Mechanically possible, lore-friendly, logical, and not developmentally-prohibitive.
I already gave my idea, decorations like a metal statue. Unfortunately, a statue would require a modeler, so it isnât necessarily cheap developmentally.
So far, I think the best suggestion is Khari arrows, as they could be a quick recolor of Steel arrows with some new stats. They just need to bring something unique, like Sunder, or they wonât be worth crafting.
So in the end what you are proposing is, that everything stays as is. Except we would get another type of useless arrows that most people propably never use, because they don´t use bows. Arrows that end up in the stash where the khari steel before was.
You think? I don´t know, maybe I am reading that wrong. But you open up a discussion, ask Funcom for something to be added to the game that uses the khari steel. You say you don´t care what it is as long as it is no armor or weapon. Then people make suggestions and you answer to that is always kinda negative. People are saying more outfits, you don´t want that. I can understand that. But then I say aditional workstations, you start a weird discussion about how khari steel wouldn´t make sense as a component. As if drinking a potion out of gold, silver and ichor in this game is making any sense, or how a potion can grow your penis the size of whatever. You do not want/accept workstations, potions, building pieces, traps. Ergo everything anybody can suggest you decline one way or another. It all boils down to a statue or the arrows
How does that go along with: I just want anything that I can use my khari steel on.
Bows are nice and all. But a bow is a weapon and you don´t want that. That you have stated in your initial post. So how does that go along with the arrows. The arrows are a part of a weapon. A weapon that is not that much popular. I do not say it doesn´t have its meaning. Just that most bows and arrows are getting stashed away anyways. How is stashed away arrows a better solution then stashed away khari steel? It boils down to the same.
Absolutely!
And some nice statues, statuettes, even braziers (or basically any other decorations) would be a cool addition. Probably in a form of a DLC, I could get away with it. Just please add some more use of obsidian and khari steel! Obsidian especially looks very amazing as decoration. Just run around in the volcano at night time with a regular torch. Those reflections and colorsâŚ
Transmutation into Eldarium sounds nice balance wise. Itâs harder to farm, I think, but in the Exile Lands, so a 1:1 ratio might be okay. Funcom will probably want to limit Eldarium to games with the Isle of Siptah DLC.
Increasing the usability of Khari armor for thralls would be best style/lore wise, though, I think. It wonât be enough to use an amount like 2600 bars, but thatâs slightly absurd amount, anyhow. Even with the arrow idea, even if each arrows required 1 bar, using up 2600 arrows does take âsomeâ time.
Yes, I donât expect to get something that would allow me to quickly use up 2600 bars, I just want something so I can use them up a rate closer I am getting them.
New Siege equipment would be cool. Khari Steel could be used in making ballistae or catapults, like for the hinges and stuff, turning the wine cellar into a viable source for end game raiding materials. Decorations would be cool too. Things like chandeliers (Regular, Witchfire, and Radium with varying costs), more fountains, or even something as simple as suits of armor on pedestals like you see in medieval castles.
The lore of Khari Steel and Eldarium arenât compatible to allow for one to be a substitute for the other. I think some form of alchemy/transmutation/smithing would be necessary.
Duplicate recipes might be an issue too, especially for those who transfer between maps.
One might also implement a trader that takes Khari steel and sells something useful for it.
Maybe a smith who exchanges them for weapons or weapon add-ons, or a treasure hunter archaeologist that has mystical or magical items to offer, such as potions, fragments of power or random epic weapons (the ones from boss chests).
Or one could take the idea behind the âepic weapons reforgedâ mod and allow us to apply blacksmith buffs to dropped items. That would even fit with their description - easy to work with, but useful to create powerful items.
