What items are now obsolete?

, ,

So I’m mainly thinking of items that were active and used in the game. Not necessarily things in the admin panel that were never released.

What is now rendered obsolete in the game with updates?

• linings
• convergence traps
• Ancient Obolus coins
• Witch Doctor knowledge
• powder of corruption
• corrupted bones

What else?

Sorceror’s skulls - but that pretty much falls under the Ancient Obulus

• magi skulls

Not entirely obsolete, but close - Taskmasters - with thralls set to tame in 20 mins (instead of 20+ hours), taskmasters mean considerably less than they did (though chain bindings mean they still have some limited relevance)

War paints. (Kinda)

You can still use them to look pretty or whatever but the stats are gone.

Mmmm I don’t know about these. You can still use or make all of these items even if their abilities or stats have been altered.

What I mean is obsolete in that the item itself has no use anymore for the most part. Like the coins, you can’t even use them as a decorative element or dismantle them. Sorcerer and magi skulls can be decorative and can still be dismantled for … bones … but their original intended purpose is gone.

I use black ice weapons in PVP for instance, ya they suck normally but are deadly in the North. Also if I’m poor I’ll make lotus potions for buffs until I get the mats for better options.

Convergence traps can still be used as decorations too, and Witch Doctor is still functional with learn all recipes enabled.

Yeah, you can still use all of the items I listed, but their original intended purpose is gone, they have a new, and arguably worse purpose now.

Except Balanced Weapon Fitting and Oil of Balance. Those are utterly useless.

On top of that they disappear at random. Some of my thralls have them for weeks, but on some of them they just disappear for no apparent reason.

Quite some time ago someone mentioned they are supposed to have a timer on them?
But why having a timer for a cosmetic item anyways?

But it still wouldn’t make any sense why warpaints sometimes last for weeks and sometimes disappear after a couple of hours. :man_shrugging:

@Kikigirl bladesmiths still work, but i would add them to the list too.
Since there is almost no crafted weapon left which can compete with legendaries.

Good evening .
Even if it is still usable, the Ferris Wheel of Suffering is no longer useful due to the time it currently takes to enslave an NPC.

Ancient Lemurian axe is still fine for an axe with armor pen

Yeah. But they still look amazing. Some at least.

Agree. A shame that is.

Larger wells make no sense.

Meh

They could reskin them as swimming pools.

Wight Horses : It is no longer possible to give saddles to Wight Horses, rendering them almost useless, as you can’t equip them with saddles that provide speed modifiers.

I put a war paint on a Carries-Others-Through-Storms on accident once. It ruined him.

I might just be salty still.

@Kikigirl I swear there’s another totally useless knowledge recipe but I can’t remember what.

Bread. Does anyone use or make bread?
:bread::baguette_bread::baguette_bread: :joy::joy::joy:

I think I ever only used it once and that was for the anniversary cake.
