How is this a PvE-C server?

As per Funcom a PvE - C server type it’s made PvE primarily, with a window of time where you could PvP. The PvP Time on this server enables also building damage when the owners are online.

Good Day.-

… that’s literally the definition of a PVP SERVER.
PVE-C is set player pvp times only with no building damage.

If there is a documentation from Funcom that defines how private servers are to be made
kindly direct me to it. To my understanding PvE-C Servers have a limited time for PvP I have seen all kind of private servers called PvE-C will differently types of configurations and they are all doing very well.

There’s a bit of confusion here. PVE-C servers have “PVP enabled” option turned on, but “PVP” in that option refers to players being able to damage other players. PVP servers have the “building damage” option turned on. Whether a server limits a feature to a certain time window or not doesn’t change the game mode.

In short, the definitions of game modes are:

  • PVE: players cannot damage other players or buildings
  • PVE-C: players can damage other players, but cannot damage buildlings
  • PVP: players can damage other players and buildings

Your server is a PVP server, not a PVE-C server.

You are giving me your opinion or the opinion or someone elses post, the official definition of server
types coming from Funcom is:

There will be three official server types PvP, PvE, and PvE Conflict. Of course, you can host your own server and then tweak it to be different than these official ones. This is a survival game that focuses on brutal enemies, harsh environments, and of course, intense PvP.

They [ Funcom ] have also explained that the difference between PvE-C and the other two is that times for PvP are limited and they said also that private servers can make it different to make it more Interesting.

You are pasting here someone else’s post from Steam’s community,
this is not an official rule from Funcom, If you have that Please Share It and free me from my Ignorance.

In addition, there are lots of other PvE-C server like mine been promoted here and nobody said anything,
Guess the PvE-C Police picked me.
I am just going to let this thread opened and forget about it, thanks for the trolls.

I am giving you the exact information about how the game itself works.

If you want, I can give you the technical details about where and how to download the list of servers that the in-game server browser uses, the schema of the JSON documents you get in return (or at least the part of the schema that I’m well acquainted with), and the exact logic the game browser uses to determine what to display as the game mode based on each server’s JSON object.

Or, alternately, you can choose to accept the words of those who have in-depth knowledge about the game. @Narelle has been a server admin and a closed beta participant for a while now, but you do you and keep calling everyone a troll

Would it surprise you to know that, when some people try to help correct a mistake, it’s entirely possible that those people haven’t read every single post by everyone else?

If so, please share with us the link from Funcom that states what you say.-
Funcoms definition of server types and how they should be created.

Let’s make this interesting, if you confirm your information within two hours
I will delete my server and stay away from this game.
I dont want to see unicors flying over the raimbow, give me an official source from Funcom that
comfirm what you say.
I am dead serious

OMG :joy: :joy: :joy: :joy:

Look, its perfectly fine how you want to set up your server. Its your’s and if that’s what you want, not a biggie. BUT if you are going to advertise your server for people to join, the common (and accurate) description of your server is PVP. So the best response would be “Really? I guess I misunderstood what they meant. I’ll change the description.” rather than come back hot and risk turning off potential people joining it because it looks like a snow job. Not a good first take.

From the rest of the article you quoted, from Funcom:

For the full PvP experience, you want to take part in the official PvP server where you can fight enemy players at all times. These servers have building damage only turned on during prime time, so you can slaughter each other whenever you want to, but destroying buildings will be limited. PvE servers, as you can imagine, makes it so that only NPCs can damage them. This is the perfect server if you don’t want to get into conflict with other players. Finally, the PvE Conflict is for those that want a mix of both, as PvP is enabled during the prime time only, but you can’t damage buildings at all.

Nobody has to prove anything. It’s your server call it what you will, but you can’t just call an orange an apple and make it so. It’s definitely NOT a pve-c server if buildings can be damaged at anytime. You’re most welcome to keep calling your orange an apple though :man_shrugging:

I do appreciate your input, I have also received direct messages from people giving me advices and I have made changes on my post. I apologize if I am coming out as a rude person but I do stand for what I believe is right and I do not change my path just because someone else wants me to.

Fair enough.

It is all a matter of perception and how we understand things, I am not here to change anyone’s point of view but there is nothing saying officially how a server is supposed to be made.
If people like it they will Join If people do not like it they will not Join and we will continue living our lives.
Thanks again for your feedback

Done.-
Thanks and sorry.

Looks pretty good I like the no offline raiding. I think I play it. If Funcom would stop the offline raiding I bet lot more people would play PVP. Thanks for server I CHECK IT OUT.
