With limits coming soon on thralls/pets, for those of us that enjoy creating our little villages and the like… could we get a new class for thralls, that makes them non combatants? For example, a player builds a small village of say, 10 little houses. Until now we would just place tamed thralls, and not worry about it. Now, those would count against the thrall cap. I’m totally happy to lose those thralls for combat/protection purposes, if they can get a new role assigned to them that removes them from any combat role (permanently).
also, do turtle pets have to count against that cap? I mean… they’re adorable and I hate the idea of killing them
Well, what would the villager thralls do? All crafting and even growing happens in some kind of crafting bench so what purpose would these thralls serve? If you want a noncombatant thrall, just place down any placeable thrall and set them to not engage in combat. Otherwise I think you probably mean you want a noncombat thrall that has the ability to just wander around.
I would love that too, but from what I understand they would still have the same impact on performance like normal combat thralls, so unless they find some way to make them just an animated placeable deco with decay timer, then I don’t think they will ever consider it
I think that is good idea, it could make the game more immersive as on connan movies there are cities and villages with some peasants, also they could make dancers a decorative placeable too, it would save us some thrall slots.
I would like Merchant Thralls who could establish trade routes with existing cities or other player holdings. They could also serve as a place for players to offer goods they want to sell to other players.
Pippi. You’re describing Pippi. All of the above has existed for years, now. Villagers, vendors, quest givers, etc. Funcom will not add this to the base game because it is already created and maintained for free by a volunteer dev team.
I said that. It’s an unpaid volunteer development team, led by Josh who are independent from Funcom. They also developed savage wilds. Why would Funcom go through the expense of hiring developers and allocating resources to do what a team of people who volunteer their time for free already do?
well they did try to hire josh at some point but he turn them down. I remember that story. Though its not like they want to exploit us … in fact they been helping us to learn and give us little tools bits by bits.
Yes to get the home more alive. A way to do a crafther thrall update to be able to change close and put them on more plases and maybe as some patrol routsarea for them.
I’m still waiting for the implementation of emotes for thralls - or patrols (if they have this already, I don’t know about it!) that way everything isn’t always so stiff. Imagine a thrall, walking about like the npc’s do. Even it’s only a short distance.
the central problem is that this game is focused on combat and you are playing house in it. It would be better for the company to create a game focused on the economy.
