That is because Funcom didn’t get rid of the cursor, they just made it invisible. The cursor is still very much there and its distance from the centre of the wheel determines how much you have to move your mouse to turn the thing.
It just feels completely wrong to use. I don’t make circles with my mouse, I move my cursor to where I want it to be along a straight line. But that is quite annoying to do when I can’t see it. And I am going to keep doing that, not changing how I use my mouse because of Funcom ■■■■■■ game design.
I am guessing this is an attempt to make it more console-friendly. Which would be fine, if you didn’t make the experience worse for PC, where the majority of your playerbase is.
Very simple hotfix tho: Add “Show cursor in wheel menu” checkbox into the settings
And future hotfix: Don’t fix shit that ain’t broken!
Agreed, with one caveat - it’s nothing to do with the console users, this was a Funcom decision. Console already had working radial menus. As it goes, your description of what is happening strongly suggests this is just an accidental bug rather than an intended change - a lot of console users are reporting loss of the information that used to appear on their radial wheels - it seems that some part of the UI overhaul has ‘blanked’ some of the smaller elements of radial menus (our mouse pointer and their info texts). Hopefully that means this is included in the hotfix stuff they are working on (there was mention of missing info from radial menus, but you’ve given me hope that may cover the mouse pointer as well (either by accident or design).
Either way - we really do need proper mouse functionality in radial menus - the current version is reminiscent of cheap console to pc ports from the early 2000s.
Yes to see the stats i have to remove my equipment and mark it on my inventory.
I believe it’s a bug.
If i could say it differently…
Stop dealing with verified OK things and deal with the real problems of the game. Creating new problems only makes the situation harder for everyone.
Yep, it’s a disaster and we didn’t even need the new wheel. The old controls worked just fine.
I’m tempted to make a list of all the things Funcom has messed up in Conan Exiles over the last couple years but I’m worried that the list will take me several months to complete…
