Basic Info:
Platform: PlayStation 5 (Digital Edition)
Issue Type: Gameplay
Game Mode: Online Official
Server Type: PvP
Map: Exiled Lands
Server Name: 3526
Bug Description:
Obstructed View. Cannot place chests, fridges or similar items without it saying “Obstructed View” it only happens in rooms that are one tile high. (so far)
Bug Reproduction:
build a room that is one level high and try to place a chest. Also, make sure that you’re in that room as well. Sometimes, I can place if from a distance. But that is limited as well.
Not only benches but also decorations made on benches are not placeable giving always obstructed view, only decos made with the crafting hammer are allowed to be placed
the obstructed view does not even make sense if you playing in first person view.
issue is that the player blocks line of sight for placing the item due to ceiling being to short, some reason in first person the char model is still in the way even though you are looking via first person instead of third person
there is a MOD fix out there on workshop that allow you to place stuff even if you do not have line of sight which fixes issue.
its say that modders have to constantly fix this game.
I am getting this extremely annoying bug all over the place. While in admin mode, first person view, and flying. It happens whether or not I’m using the construction hammer. It happens even if I’m not IN a building but am outside with nothing TO obstruct my view. It’s making building and decorating a nightmare.
Another player has said:
It seems to be something that is tripping up on the z-axis position of the player who is trying to do the placing. The solution in the video was to create more head space for the player. But what I did was I changed my players z: I hopped up on a desk, and then I was able to place my weapon rack.
Really? Where do you live? Sorry to hear that. Basically, the video shows that I removed some tiles above my head and I was able to place the items down. However, as @Cornelius pointed out, a less invasive method is to simply crouch while placing items. Using that method, I haven’t had a problem since.
