I’m a long time player and recently started on official server 1652 (PvP). For some reason I cannot place items inside a building if I am inside of it. If I’m outside and looking in, I can place it.

This has been for quite a while now, I have had this out in the open only the sky for my roof, no foundations and view obstructed for placing a chest.
What seems to work is to crouch when you get this message, also moving slightly when crouched will enable you to place it as sometimes it seems to be the postion where you are it does not, like so moving slightly back or in either direction can also enable you to place it.

Am I right in saying this “View Obstructed” error message only started showing 6 months ago after the AOH was introduced. I can’t remember that far back.

Yes I think that was when I first encountered it, I found it was really awkward to place bombs in a single height, narrow entrance, I could only place about 2 and I found by moving away abit and side to side I could get a third, it made me think that it was something to do towards quick bomb placement and raiding, but the side effect seem to be what you experienced, but that is just my opinion.
