Odd Thrall and Pet Guarding Behavior

Game mode: Online private | Single-player
Type of issue: Bug | Misc
Server type: PvP | PvE-Conflict | PvE
Region: EU

Bug:

Thralls and Pets which are ordered to guard a region will relentlessly attack neutral creatures and NPCs in there guarding range like Shalebacks or wandering NPCs from Sepermeru, and will ignore aggressive creatures and NPCs like Crocodiles or wandering Darfari Cannibals, until the aggressive creatures or NPCs attack the Thralls/Pets or the Player.

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. Order a Thrall or a Pet to guard a region with an neutral creature like a Shaleback nearby.
  2. Order a Thrall or a Pet to guard a region with an aggressive creature like a Crocodile nearby.
  3. Alternatively order a Thrall or a Pet to guard a region and spawn the required creatures.
  4. See what happens,

Hey @Nadia

We’re aware of some inconsistent thrall AI behavior and our team is looking into it.
Apologies for the frustration and thanks for your feedback.

I’ve noticed this with our pets below our base. We have bears, wolves, and sabretooths down there. They will ignore NPC sabertooths until they attack us or we attack them. Same with mammoths. But they will go way out of their way for a deer even if it’s a passive deer.
