Bug Description:
Crafter thralls placed AFTER update randomly disappear from station, are not reflected in station interface as active on station, are listed as “returning home” but cannot be tracked via follower tracking. Searched under base area and all over, cannot be found.
Bug Reproduction:
Place worker at station. Literally play the game for half an hour. Boom random workers MIA.
In addition:
Yes they have open access to chairs, campfire, and beds.
When accessing his stats via follow list, he showed as “Poisoned”
Two minutes later he is no longer even on my follower list. He is COMPLETELY GONE.
I want to buy the new set, but won’t spend a cent until my EDGESMITH IS REPLACED.

It’s funny you mention this, all my crafters on beta would randomly get poisoned, health depleted, and would clear for the proper duration - as if I’d poisoned them. Nothing in inventory to cause it, nothing was shot, no thrall pot, etc.,… happened on SP too.
I actually was standing next to one of them today sort of AFK, I happened to look up and noticed the little poisoned icon on his bar for a second and it disappeared. Also no explanation. Very odd.
I also lost a T4 carpenter (Builder). Couldn’t find him in my base. His buff was not in the benches. Saw his status was returning home in follower list for a few minutes. When I checked again he was no longer in my follower list. No message in the event log.
However, I do have some messages in the event log for other crafters that said they returned home. Not sure why they disappeared and why they sometimes come back and sometimes don’t.
First round of very unscientific testing…
Placed an armorer in the world, then picked him up and put him into the bench ghost for the armorers bench.
Accessed thrall interface to change the name for easier tracking in the list.
Grabbed him out of the bench slot and placed him on the ground again, then he walked away - poofed without a trace. Not in the follower list. No record if his demise in the event log.
Tried again with a cook and a blacksmith.
Placed them on the ground, and did not ‘put them into the bench ghost spot’
After a little confusion, both walked off to their station and started working.
Tested a trans-mogged set of gauntlets to see if the visual would stay the same on a crafter, and it did work.
Left these crafters outside of the bench ghost, and their actions seemed to be as expected, eventually running off to the fire for a bowl of imaginary stew and even stopping at the well before returning to work.
More testing later today, but still not ready to place T3 or T4 craters without more info from FC.
I have proceed exactly like you : I have placed my artisants in the world without their assigned specific bench .
They started by going to their workstation where they are carried out their abstractive stains.
But after a few minutes (less than 10) they are going to sleep, eat sit on chairs and are never going to their workstation again .
Then reconnecting the next day, 14 of them had disappeared, no mention in the Journal des Events, only 3 were indicated as “returning home” impossible to carry out a rescue via the followers of the followers and impossible to brove the broken the link (At each attempts the game indicated NPC which is not found).
I was really finished by the found (reading the notes of our tester friends ; thank you), they all found themselves in stationary flight above the tundra near the aqueduct.
I’ve not been back to that server for to check their behavior after leaving them on their own for a while. I’ve been to some neighbors that seem to have their settlements working, but not sure how many they placed in the process.
