I stepped away from the game, and I suspect a sandstorm passed through and killed my character. When I returned, I spawned on top of the roof of my shelter. It seems I died again, as there were two bodies present. Upon respawning, I was naked on the roof, indicating that I had died a second time while away. This bug causes players to spawn above their bed or bedroll, often on the roof of their house/shelter. The game will not spawn me on my bedroll or bed.
I can confirm a similar issue in singleplayer - my current bed is against a single height wall, with a sloped roof above it. If I log out on the bed, when I log in the character spawns partially in the roof pieces, glitches a couple of times and then falls into the correct position. Maybe there’s a problem with the z-axis for spawning in?
Edit: I should say, this is happening to me in live branch, I haven’t tried Public Beta this time around. I believe this issue pre-dates AoH - hopefully your report may lead to it being fixed.
This happens to me every time on [Live] as well, and my house is fairly large with a bed placed only against the headboard section, not fully up against the wall like in the Public Beta. Despite that, my character still spawns all the way up to the roof, which is three walls high. It’s super irritating, and I really hope this bug gets fixed soon.
[This is where I spawn]
Interesting.
I’m currently spawning to a bed with no “roof” other than permastructure. No problem appearing at bed except for rubberband tethering on occasion.
But when I made my shitshack it was 1 wall high and I was spawning in the walls so moved it. Then I was spawning on the roof.
Once I complete my base I will report back.
