Hey Funcom and fellow Exiles,
Hope everyone’s surviving and thriving out there in the wasteland. I’ve got something on my mind that I think could really ramp up our gameplay experience - let’s talk proximity chat.
First off, props to everyone who’s been jumping into PS party chats to keep communication flowing. It’s been a great workaround but, you’ve got to admit, it kinda kills the spontaneity, doesn’t it? There’s something magic about bumping into a random wanderer in the wild and sparking up a chat right there, without needing to set up a party chat first.
Not to mention, using the proximity chat could really help to pull us deeper into the immersive world of Conan Exiles. You’re out in the wilderness, you hear a voice in the distance - friend or foe? It adds a layer of realism that we’re currently missing out on.
Of course, some of you might be thinking “But what about the noisy players?”. Totally hear you, and the great thing is, the mute option has us covered. We can swiftly silence those pesky players with open mics blaring background noise, and if we ever want some quiet time for ourselves, we just hit the mute button. It’s a win-win situation, really.
Here’s a quick run-down of the benefits:
Encourages spontaneous, in-the-moment interactions
Enhances immersion and sense of realism
Easily manageable - we can quickly mute disruptions or mute ourselves
So what do you all think? Would improving the proximity chat make your Exiles experience even better? Let’s get a conversation going.
And to our amazing Funcom devs, keep up the fantastic work you’re doing on the game. Looking forward to seeing what other cool updates are coming our way!
