PlayStation Update 2.4/2.4.6 Official Discussion Megathread

Ya know. I just wanna say. I have been in software development, not as a Dev, but as a support specialist. I visit a place called GitHub everyday to check out code changes to a certain software I use. I provide bug fixes to this software and help figure out what is wrong. I have supported this software for a long time. One thing I have found out after all this time is:

When you go to fix a bug and actually fix it, you can introduce other bugs in different parts of the software just because of that one fix. It’s a hard job being a Dev. I am not one, and would not want that job. I am happy just helpin out. My only point is I wish people could understand this. Tracking down a bug is not fun at all.

I know, your all going to say; “But it’s been years and bugs are still here from early access”. Yes they are, this is the way it goes when you introduce new content into a game and try to solve new bugs when the old ones are still present. It’s not really the right way to do it but all these members complaining about all these bugs all the time and being angry about it is not making this process faster.

People should lay off the Dev’s and the team and give things a bit of time. Especially in this day and age with what the entire globe is going through. This post is not directed at anyone individual and should have probably been posted somewhere else but oh well. These are my thoughts on this.

Yeah I know we sound like a broken record sometimes and I don’t like it either. We don’t exactly take pleasure in having to seem like we’re stringing folks along when there’s ongoing issues with a patch.

I personally don’t hold the moderators accountable. They are just the messenger. Unfortunately someone up the food chain is constructing the messagei without having to deal with blow back.

Me looking to see if Funcom cleaned up their mess yet:

It’s been so long since I have played Conan, I forgot how to play. At this rate when I finally buy the Siptah DLC after Funcom fixes Conan, it will be for sale at a reduced price. Win - win I suppose.

A lot of companies are trying to push the consoles to the limits to have a better overall game (have many who admitted it) and that’s part of the issues these days

Almost heartbreaking what i read here. Unfortunally its headbreaking to play the game on a lastgen consoles right now. If someone at microsoft or a higher person from funcom would play it for ten minutes, idk if everyone would keep his job.

Thanks Andy B, I’m sure like myself there are many who appreciate the explanation, as many of us don’t know the ins and outs of programming, so I just want to offers big thanks for your efforts and we look forward to the update when it arrives.

I’ve been harsh the past couple of days towards Funcom but I will say I do appreciate the candor and humor that they afford to let you be yourself. It’s a nice and refreshing realism that I enjoy. Thank you.
