Something like the Fallout 76 photo mode would be fantastic. PLEASE
Yes, I can see it now. A raiding band of bloodthirsty barbarians about to charge into an enemy base and slaughter everyone inside when somebody utters those infamous words:
“Hang on guys. Let me take a selfie.”
If you are on PC and are using Geforce Experience, it’s photo mode is amazing. Never played Fallout 76 so can’t compare.
Ya. If you need help figuring out how to work it or enable it, just google Geforce Experience Photo Mode. Lots of various YouTube vids (I did an actual search to be sure there was stuff to be found, and there definitely is )
I’m not a pro’s pro when it comes to using it, but if you want some examples, all my screenshots on my PvE Plus Ambush mod came via it, along with most of them on Javelin Improved. Basically, it’s user interface is really easy to use and you can get some great shots.
Yeah a Pphoto mode would be really great, I can’t use the GeForce thing for screenshots because I sadly only have an AMD graphics card and the driver has no such feature built in.
Assassins Creed Odyssey and Origins (probably Valhalla too?) have very great photo modes as well, I took lots of screenshots in those games because you can edit them so easily.
If you have GeForce Experience, go to it by right-clicking the NVIDIA icon in your System Tray. Click the Settings wheel. Look under the General tab.
Click the slider to enable the In-Game overlay. Click Settings and focus for now on Keyboard shortcuts. To open and close the in-game overlay I’ve set the hotkey to Alt + B. This opens the drop-down while you’re playing the game. Look at the Capture section. While the in-game Overlay is enabled, this hotkey combination will invoke Ansel Photography tools. To open Ansel, mine is set to Alt + F2.
If you’re using an AMD GPU, you can always run OBS to capture at least at your native resolution. You can live-record your gameplay as a video file, but … you can run the Replay Buffer in the background, and then save a chunk of your gameplay in one file, for instance the last 10 minutes of play. Then you can use VideoLAN to play back your footage and capture the exact frame you want.
This would be very nice. I’ve never played a fully real time game with photo mode, all the ones I’ve used were on single player games like Shadow of Mordor or A Plague Tale which pause the game when you use it
I imagine I’d get myself killed pretty often using it in Conan😜
