Are you happy with the Living Settlements system as it has been released? I workshopped this poll a little bit trying to remove bias and give a chance for some added feature controls. If your answer doesn’t fit - then feel free to abstain from participation.
If you have other CONSTRUCTIVE feedback, I welcome your replies to add your thoughts below. Thank you players!
I am happy with the Living Settlements, as is.
I am mostly happy with the Living Settlements as delivered. Though I look forward to a swift patch or hotfix to correct issues.
I am unhappy with the Living Settlements delivery. But I will deal.
I am unhappy with the Living Settlements delivery, and I believe that the best course of action would be to revert back to the previous system (inventory thralls). Or allow an option to disable Living Settlements and return to inventory thralls with a switch via the server .ini file. (Player / Server Choice)
I am unhappy with the Living Settlements delivery. But, I could be happy with it if there were a sort of OPT-IN feature included that allows me to enable/disable thrall participation in Living Settlements via a radial dial control for BOTH artisan/worker thralls and warrior thralls. (Player Choice)
I am unhappy, and the changes will cause me to re-evaluate whether or not I play Conan Exiles.
There’s a server option to enable or disable it. Plus, you can kinda disable it at your base by disabling the thrall use for each placeable via radial control so that they would be static, like the fighters.
Another wonderful update from funcom. Things as normal. I just wish one time they could do an update that wasn’t a total disaster. Any word at all from devs about anything? Again, typical funcom. But dont worry, im sure they will put out a patch soon, that is for something else that doesnt need fixed. Lmao.
I’m unhappy with the release and the feature as it’s implemented, but I like the idea of it if not the execution. I think they should patch/hotfix the worst bugs ASAP, rollback the official servers, then fix the other less severe bugs and implement more control over it for players. If you could enable/disable it per thrall, that’d be good; should also have a wander distance slider on thralls like follow/attack/chase distance.
Not how this one would have preferred for it to happen.
Does it remind anyone else of Dwarf Fortress?
But once the bugs are ironed out…
Meh?
It has the potential to be ok?
And this one’s dislike of it, if it were not a buggy mess, would meander into ambivalence if it weren’t so infested.
There are cons to it, but it came packaged with several things this one likes.
Well, I voted option 4 (Unhappy, but could be happy with radial type opt-in), but realistically I don’t know how much longer CE will remain on my harddrive, so I’m not really sure how relevant my opinion is. I was broadly in favour of the Living Settlement idea at the earliest stages, though there were some obvious problems that we brought up even then. This is the first ‘Chapter’ that would bring something that actually interested me - but the actual implementation (in addition to all of the problems and bugs) seems less alive than when they were at least doing something on a bench.
So the first update in a couple of years that has actually interested me is, in my view, a near total failure. I really don’t know how much longer I can be bothered to keep trying.
I appreciate the concept and the effort put in. I’d be fine with it if they couldn’t open doors or warp to the tabernacle clusterfvck they’ve got going on at 0,0,0.
I haven’t had as many bugs minus the pretty huge one mentioned previously.
I picked the Mostly happy option but I fully admit it’s because I play on private servers now days and we turned it off as soon as our servers were back up and stable.
If I was still playing on officials this crap might make me quit…
loving the new chapter age of heroes from story of the characters and the locations on the map as well s quests and rewards.
Hopefully funcom drop more characters and quests around map in the future. I am fine with the time wait between quests as there are plenty of other things to do in this game.
As for living settlements and other bugs I’m sure funcom is working hard for a fix…how can you be mad at funcom, this game is awesome fun.
I’m generally satisfied with the Living Settlements system, but I believe there are areas for improvement, particularly in user interface and feature customization. Looking forward to seeing more constructive feedback from others.
I really like the idea. It’s what I’ve wanted since the release.
I think of the game like my football club, it’s like Stockholm syndrome at times. Both give me something that I can’t get from others, which is why I can’t let go, but they disappoint me time and time again.
I still think that Funcom has absolutely no idea what they really have with Conan.
I like the idea of the system. Ignoring for the moment that it’s broken, I do otherwise think it should be refined and more player-controllable than what we have now. I will recognize that they did at least add toggles to placeables (which I don’t think was on beta) but giving thralls schedules, so players have better control over when/where thralls will be at a given time (shift work y’all!). Let us assign them beds so we can give them cots in their workshop if we have a village. Beds can have time slots for sleeping so those shift work thralls can hot bunk in barracks.
It has potential. But we’re all too busy trying to figure out how not to lose thralls (or just turning off the system entirely for those that can) that we can’t see through the bugs TO the potential.
I am happy with living settlement. I am happy with the effort. But i am even happy with bugs too, they spice my game .
So since i am probably lunatic, my vote should not count .
No seriously now i like the idea, the effort is… You know… The usual … And i cannot wait to see similar reaction to my soldiers.
It’s not about anger, which would be absurd, but about satisfaction (that was the point of the question). Unfortunately, it’s a general problem: the notion of customer respect, because we are customers, has almost completely disappeared in the Western world.
There was a test version, but what’s the point if bug reports are ignored? And I’m not even talking about the novelty of banning without notice or explanation, when all the rules can be defined by the software. But the worst part is the silence, here or elsewhere.
Obviously, I love this game, which I’ve been playing since its release, and I’m delighted that there are still new features. I don’t blame the developers, who are most likely under pressure from financiers already counting the millions they expect to make with Dune.
I am beginning to think that the bug reports aren’t necessarily being ignored. It’s just that they aren’t able to catalog, communicate with their customers, and/or solve the issues with the manpower they have in the time allotted them.
We don’t know that they are getting, acting upon, and working to fix these issues. Because that is something that they have struggled to share openly with the player community.
Only for admins, and it doesn5 work on siptah, it refuses to let you turn it off, and even with it turned off on exiles, you still cannot put thralls on the bench, you have to place em in the world.
Also to mention this update has made cheating and meshing easier. The crew i was running with on off 2584 was just wiped because of a set that was done from underneath our base next to Eastern Barracks. Sent yall clips and videos and yall never seem to do anything.
As I understand it - this was also an issue prior to this update. So, not necessarily easier. But - also still an outstanding, open item. Do I have that right, @Kikigirl ?
