Possible return of the old Journey Step System with Age of Heroes Update

Funcom-
I’m glad there’s a new update coming out this month for Conan Exiles. It shows how your team still cares for such a project. However, with the “Age of War” reaching its conclusion after Chapter IV, I noticed that a certain feature wasn’t considered for possible re-implementation in the future. Anyways, I’m one of the few who enjoyed the original journey step system included with the game. It created immersion by telling a story about the playable exile’s fight for survival in the Exiled Lands. Each completed step was accompanied by a well-written passage worthy of Robert E. Howard himself. I believed it gave your game an edge over other competitors. So, with the Age of Heroes update nearing release, maybe consider brining back the earlier journey step system with this upcoming expansion.

I think it would be better for an Age of Eons or something like that where there would be support for a rollback server feature. I personally would love, on my Gportal server, the ability to advance my Exiled Lands map from the early days before there even was a Jungle or Highlands biome, through the ages to the current version. I really like the development of the game as a whole, both the highs and lows, and it would be cool to be able to explore that idea. (It might even be really cool to have a developer discussion mode (especially if older staff could be asked to submit their thoughts) like Half-Life 2: Episode 1 did. I would love to bring people into the game the way I experienced it early on in development, and experience the changes to the maps, and features.

Personally, I’d prefer no journey steps.

I think they should expand the current Journey System by getting rid of levels and have us earn our attribute points through feats of strength and conquest, feat (knowledge) points through feats of knowledge and exploration, and recipes (the ones we unlock as we level) though gathering certain materials, breaking down things we find, and other means of learning.

This way we’re not simply getting level 60 by killing hundreds of boars aka the make love not warcraft method. Instead we get stronger and wiser by crushing our enemies, seeing them driven before us, and hearing the lamentations of their women like proper hard dicked barbarians.

I don’t believe this is the case. Nobody really had a huge issue with the old journey step system and literally everybody was happy to unlock it without even trying to do so. The new journey step is more analytical and more rewarding but it’s truly irritating!

Hey, that’s not a bad idea!

Actually, I felt like it gave the game somewhat of a personality.
